Gwar Must Die!,
By
This review is from: Live From Mt Fuji (Audio CD)
Ok, not really. If you're a Gwar fan, this is an awesome cd. You're already tuned into their wicked sense of humor, which is in full effect.
Soundwise...yeah Oderus' vocals could have been mixed a little higher but it's not like they're buried under a puddle of sludge. The musicianship is pretty tight. Oderus' stage banter is worth the price alone. Be a good slave and pick this up!

An awesome album!,

I got this album for what I thought was a little much, but if it can help out the greatest band ever formulated, then I'm willing to pay the price. I had never heard Salaminizer, Sick of You, Horror of Yig, or Crush, Kill, Destroy before but I bought Scumdogs after hearing this album. I love this entire album. The Salaminizer is a perfect opener to this album. I have to get a copy of N.W.A.'s album to see if the intro is really a face-on bite of the song like everyone says. Then comes Krosstika which is my second favorite song on War Party. The song is incredible live! Then comes Osama bin Laden and a nuclear bomb. Bring Back the Bomb, an awesome track that is unbelievable to hear live. The song is tight on its own. Then we are treated to Ham on the Bone which is quickly begun and as soon as it started, it's over. An in your face heavy metal song to get the blood flowing if the first three didn't do it for you. Then comes Immortal Corruptor which I think is better with the slower tempo and when Flattus contributes to the beginning of it, oh yeah baby! The song is definitely a gem on this album. Then the quick Womb With A View which is an excellent song and this album wouldn't be complete without it. Then the track that many will talk about for a long, long time. Have You Seen Me? and, of course, a special guest whom everyone in the country should know about. I'm not gonna say her name because you need to hear it for yourself. It's pretty tasteless, hilarious, and genius. Horror of Yig, I'll say that I think the album version is better, but this version is louder. It's still a good song. I didn't think they would play a song from Ragnarok but I was wrong. Crush, Kill, Destroy is a short song, but the commentary is funny as hell. Crack In The Egg, an excellent song, but not the best on AMBD. I think this is probably where they take on Gor-Gor whom I think is back on tour with them as I saw on the Womb With A View video on War Party. The Reaganator is an explosive song live and is definitely worth the price of the album alone. It's incredible to hear this song actually played live. Bonesnapper is a masterpiece of a song on War Party and it doesn't lose anything hear, except the intro. Flattus' guitar on this track is mind-blowing. He can really rip out a solo. Sick of You, I had never heard this song, but after hearing it I had to get Scumdogs. Then they take an intermission to project some fluids into the crowd and close it out with Biledriver. I didn't believe everyone that said Biledriver sounds a lot better live but they were right. It's amazing to hear it live. That's it for the tracks. I think that if you've never been to a GWAR show, like me, that this gives you some sort of idea of what it's like. I'd love to see these guys live. I agree that Oderus' vocals could have been a little louder but I still think that the music makes up for it. The commentary in between songs is hilarious. I think this would have been even better if they had played either Decay of Grandeur, my favorite on War Party, The Road Behind, my favorite on AMBD, or Sammy, my favorite GWAR song EVER!!!! I want to hear Sammy performed live. Oh well. Buy this album. Support GWAR and DRT so they can produce more.
P.S. Who agrees that moving to DRT was the best thing GWAR ever did, besides become a band?

GWAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROCKS!,

I have been a GWAR fan since SCUMDOGS! I love everything GWAR has any part of! Gwar is still one of the best bands ever! This cd is funny as hell, with great sound! I don't understand why every one is saying the vocals are bad? It sounds perfect on my boses system. But I did listen to it on a crappy boom box and the sound was not as great. So, maybe it depends on your stereo and speakers? But who cares GWAR is here for good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAIL GWAR!!

I bought this disc even after I read some unfavorable reviews of it in regards to the vocal mix. Sure, in the first track his vocals seemed to be overshadowed by the sonic onslaught of his bandmates, but overall it is an excellent recording of them LIVE. I'll tell you, for the vocals being overshadowed, Oderus steals the show! This show is hilarious! I only wish they had released an accompanying DVD because nothing beats SEEING them live. Great song selection as well. Who would have thought when I saw them back in '89 they'd still be around! Long Live GWAR !

Even though you can barely hear Oderus' singing, it's ok. In between songs, just like a live show, is hilarious with Oderus' comments. The guitar work by Flattus is amazing. Have You Seen Me? is once again worth most of the money for the disc just like The Road Behind E.P. I remember seeing this concert live and Have You Seen Me? was just as tasteless and funny as it sounds on this cd. This cd is definately worth buying. It is one of the better live cd's I've heard in years.

This is a good disc. They should have put a few more songs from older discs though. The witty banter between songs is worth the price of the disc alone, but falls short because the vocals could have been brought up a little more. All in all, a great performance and captures the live show energy.

It's GWAR!,

The production on this album is top-notch, except for the vocals are down a little too much in the mix. However, this really lets the instrumentation shine. GWAR aren't just a comedy band; they've got more than enough chops to back it up. The only thing missing is a blood covered crowd. A must have for any real GWAR fan, however new buyers should be directed at different material such as "Scumdogs of the Universe", "America Must Be Destroyed", "Violence Has Arrived" or "War Party". All in all, you can't really go wrong with GWAR.

A Drunk, a Pervert, a Junkie, and a Womanizer,
By
This review is from: Live From Mt Fuji (Audio CD)
I really do hate to give this album less than 5 stars but the vocal production on this is very bad. You can hear the intensity that any Gwar concert goer would expect, but it sounds like the guy sitting in the front row held his tape recorder up and shielded the blood to make a half ass recording. MAGGOTS!
