5.0 out of 5 stars Live in NY '72 - woo-hoo! This is it!, June 20, 2000

It was an exciting moment when my copy of the famed "Bootleg EP" arrived in the mail. I knew it would be the ultimate live Blue Öyster Cult experience. For me, the quality of songs is somewhat descending ("Workshop" being easily the best track), but all four are great. The sound is not bad, but not excellent either, it sounds as if it's been recorded off an LP. Never mind - it only adds an edge to the recording, making it sound really old, but 'still kicking'.

If you care about BÖC at all, YOU HAVE GOT TO HAVE THIS. You won't regret it!

3.0 out of 5 stars The famous "Bootleg EP" now on CD, February 25, 2001

Made in SPA in 2000, Serial# MR-CD-168, Playing Time 18:11

This was originally released on vinyl by Columbia records as a promotional-only EP (Serial# AS-40), recorded live in New York City during the tour to support their first album .

The running order has been shuffled between sides 1 and 2, but the material is here in all of its glory, with a fair recording quality. Of special interest is an early version of "The Red And The Black", which would appear on BOC's second album, as well as a rocking version of "Buck's Boogie", a track that wouldn't appear of any of BOC's discography until "On Your Feet Or On Your Knees".

Not spectacular, but an interesting document for any BOC collector.
