5.0 out of 5 stars They killed metal twice....but it will never die! Kind of like a zombie or even that Jesus guy!
To a guy who spends alot of his time watching Hellraiser films with his girlfriend and listening to Iron Maiden, Vital Remains, Behemoth, in Flames, Converge etc etc Brian Posehn is a God send to nerd metalheads around the world. What can you exspect from this album? Only comedic rage that only a pissed off nerd could give you. A wonderful mix of old work like Nerd Rgae,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good and nerdy
This album starts off very strong, and is funny until the middle. Then, the editing kicks in, and it's clear that few audiences laughed at Posehn's lesser jokes, so the album takes on this laughter-edited-in quality than didn't quite sit with me. Posehn references Patton Oswalt a few times because they knew and lived with each other. While Oswalt extends his humor...

A wonderful mix of old work like Nerd Rgae, the Mattress Story and the always classic..Yelling Stuff. With great new work, Brian hasn't lsot a step and is my favorite comedian hands down. I went to buy this along with the new All THat Remains(Great!!) as soon as my local record store opened (nerd!) I picked both up, I can clearly say this was no dissapointment. Brian has a natural charming delivery that just makes you want him to be funny. To manys delight, that is just what he is. also, some comics force it and you can always tell when they do. With him though, he throws it out "This is who I am, like it or not. Just let me watch X fiels season 5 on dvd" Which is great, no bulls*it. Just great comedy. Plus, the debut of the brutal audio assault of Posehn and Titannica appear here with Brian on vocals!! Metal By Numbers is not only musically pretty good but hilarious. The best 13 dollars i've spent in a while. Buy with no need to hesitate for a moment. Just make sure on your way home you don't have a mattress stuck under your car! Enjoy

3.0 out of 5 stars Good and nerdy, September 3, 2009

This album starts off very strong, and is funny until the middle. Then, the editing kicks in, and it's clear that few audiences laughed at Posehn's lesser jokes, so the album takes on this laughter-edited-in quality than didn't quite sit with me. Posehn references Patton Oswalt a few times because they knew and lived with each other. While Oswalt extends his humor beyond his sci-fi, nerdy self, Posehn wallows in it, and sometimes this works in Posehn's favor but too often it doesn't. And he knows it. He sighs at his own flopped jokes and struggles to regain steam. He throws off using segues as if it is old hat, but really the best comics have always moved fluidly within their respective material. This is a funny album, yes, but it's not always at the same level of humor.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite comedy albums., February 14, 2009

This album is just fantastic. Funny jokes about nerdy stuff, it's like the holy grail for people like me. What's great about Brian Posehn is how laid back and conversational his delivery is. He's just a guy telling you about what he thinks, doing it an incredibly funny way. Brian is one of my favorite comics, and I can't recommend buying this album enough. Not only are you going to be treating yourself to something great, but you'll be supporting a wonderful comic.

Maybe, but it does not matter, this album is very funny and I really like Mr. Posehn's honesty about himself. He touches on the subject of nerdiness with insight and great humor.

5.0 out of 5 stars absolutely hilarious, March 19, 2008
This review is from: Live In: Nerd Rage (Audio CD)
Absolutely hilarious CD. "Nerd Rage" is definitely an appropriate title. Armed with a love of video games, comic books, sci-fi, D&D, heavy metal, and so on, Posehn can make anyone laugh, regardless of whether they are in on the different sub-cultures listed above.

My personal favorite skits are "yelling stuff" and "show a little neck." For fans of other Comedians of Comedy like Patton Oswalt, Maria Bamford, David Cross, etc. Recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brian Posehn is one of those guys that everyone has seen on TV and in a few movies, and everyone has laughed at and wanted to see or hear more of his comedy, and everyone says "Who's that?" when you mention his name. But his name is one worth remembering, as this is one of the funniest CDs I have heard all year. I first heard the "nerd rage" track on a friends Ipod, and had to try the whole CD. And I was not disappointed. If you have a little bid of nerd in you (or even if you don't) this CD will keep you laughing til the very end. Plus it's got a lot of tracks, so you get your money's worth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hillarious, April 18, 2008
This review is from: Live In: Nerd Rage (Audio CD)
Brian Posehn is hillarious. He's sense of humor is up there with Lewis Black. If you like his CD you should check out his graphic novel (comic book) "The Last Christmas".
