"Come Sunday",

I am in agreeance with the previous reviewer! I was also lucky to find this set.In all honesty, I only purchased this CD set for the Mahalia Jackson songs and she sings with so much emotion and enthusiasm. "Come Sunday" demonstrates her ability to remain calm, cool, and collective, while "Keep Your Hand On The Plow" shows Mahalia's exciting style and her steadfast belief in God. And hearing Duke Ellington's orchestra back her up on both songs is just AMAZING!!!!!!! Mahalia's conversation with the audience showcases how such a massive icon can still remain humble. Commenting towards the song "Come Sunday," Mahalia wasn't ashamed to hint that she wasn't fully comfortable with the style of the song. She says, in such a soft-spoken voice, "I've been worried to death all day...it's my first time. If Duke wasn't great, I never would've tried it. And I thank God for him." Just wonderful! Don't get me wrong though! The entire CD set is wonderful! I'd recommend it to anyone who loves GREAT music!
