Wow! Great show!,

I got to catch a Zero show in '86 and never forgot the energy. This disk captures it in all the glory deserving of such a great jam band. Zero's blend of jazz, rock, R and B, and yes, some very Garcia like, trailing guitar solos, is sure to please any listener of great musicianship. Steve kimock and Co. are the bomb! A very enthusiastic 5 stars! Thanks Guys!

Live collection from Zero, recorded in 1997-98 at The Maritime Hall, San Francisco, Ca. Steve Kimock on guitars and Greg Anton: drums, lead the attack from this great group of space-pioneers that also features the ever wacky and crazy, Martin Fierro on saxophones, Bobby Vega: bass guitar, Chip Roland: keyboards, guitars & vocals, Judge Murphy: vocals.
Few bands have ever done things musically in the manner of Zero. Jazz, rock, blues, soul & space, this fine bunch of players take their music {or, does it take them?} to other galaxies as masters of improv. Righ here on this CD, and infront of a crazed crowd at The Maritime Hall, San Francisco, Ca. they let loose on eight tunes. "Cole's Law", is a showcase for Steve to rip and shred, and that is exactly what he does, a fine version of this classic, but shorter {At 11 minutes} than many other live editions already out there. "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone" is nicely sung by Judge, and is a nice surprise as part of the set here. The best thing here for me is: "Home On The Range" with some wonderful lyrics by Robert Hunter and some of Steve's most killer guitar solo's....Masterpiece. Jimi Hendrix, get's a nod with a beautiful version of: "Little Wing", again it's Steve's guitar that shines, and if anyone didn't know how great he is...Well, here is the proof. The Beatles: "I Want You" is a sonic blast of blazing sound, and then... Zero was and still is a bunch of musical explorers that need a stage to really do just exactly what they do best. If you like adventures in your head, here those adventures as played by the masters. Four Stars !!!

i have listened to this album probably more times than i can count. every time i listen i hear something new that i haven't heard before. Cole's Law, This Is Your Brain on Drums Part 2, and Forever Is Nowhere are all great examples of this band's musical genious. Somewhere between jazz, and psychadelic rock,This is an album that people of all ages can enjoy.
