I first heard of TK when I worked up in Hendersonville one summer; at the end of the summer, they handed out to anyone who wanted it, for FREE, a copy of TK's first CD. I thought it was a throw-away, like they got copies because someone knew someone or whatever. I had a long drive home to Florida, popped the CD in the player, and--OMG!!! I fell in love with it immediately. So refreshing, so syncopated, just fantastic "world" music that you normally would not expect to find except by combing through the end bins at some dusty eclectic music stores. I played it several times on the ride home (800 miles or so, over 2 days). For some reason, today I decided to go online and check them out (first time), saw they had a new CD out, and barely needed to preview the songs...I knew they were just awesome. More of the same type of music, but NOT the same! You will not confuse one song with another. The variety of instruments, the unique beats and melodies, just make you itch to tap your feet, bobble your head and try to keep up and hum along...I love this band, and if you like "world" music you will LOVE TK. You can of course read more about them elsewhere (including Wiki), but they basically fuse African music and instruments (harps/lyres, etc) with American staples (electric guitars and even fiddles), to come up with lively, mood-lifting music. I am sorry they won't be up in the Asheville area when I am up there again this summer. I would have LOVED to see them live. You can bet that one of these days my path and theirs will collide!

Simply amazing. So good to hear such a new and refreshing sound coming from this young band from Asheville.

This CD is by far one of the most amazing Live Recordings I have listened to. TK has such a unique and amazing sound and it is really exemplified in this live set. My only suggestion is to buy this CD, whether you have never heard TK or if you already love them, you won't be disappointed in this CD!!!

This live cd is a perfect way to get introduced to the amazing live, world sound of Toubab Krewe. The Orange Peel has amazing sound and this live performance cd shows. The way the band flows between the songs and their unusual instruments that you never see make this band a must see live. Every performance i have seen them i have absolutely loved. Go check out Toubab Krewe live at one of their next shows or atleast purchase some of their live material. You wont be disappointed.

Really heard best live, this album does a great job of capturing the musical flow of the band. A great venue for acoustics, one feels as though she is sitting at a table in the very room. The recording demonstrates how a jam band can successfully be smooth and subtle, yet energetic and funky at the same time.

Live music is what I live for and this album does a great job of capturing toubab's live essence. If you have never gotten a chance to hear what their live music sounds like be sure to buy this album.

I recently just saw Toubab Krewe at Wanee Music Festival this year. They put on a hell of a show and earned me as an immediate fan. I am a proud owner of this album which is awesome because its a live show! Toubab Krewe produces a great sound by playing many different unique instruments. These guys are definitely a band you should give a try!!

I'm a sucker for live recordings, and this one does a great job capturing the sound that you just can't get in a recording studio. So much of Toubab Krewe's music is so...tribal...that to experience it to the fullest, you have to experience it live! I live in the mid-west, so recordings like this help me fill in the time until I can catch them again. :) I'm very glad their touring schedule has expanded and they've been playing more music festivals!!

Toubab is one of those must see live bands! This album does a pretty good job of capturing what is in store for you at a Toubab krewe show. I would high recommend checking them out live or picking up this cd to know their sound. Highly recommended.

Amazing CD, amazing sound. Great fusion of everything from west african to rock and jam band. Every time I have seen this band live it has been incredible and I would not have been able to keep myself from dancing even if I wanted to. Check them out - you will not be disappointed.
