4.0 out of 5 stars Finally..., April 2, 2002
By
This review is from: Live at The Palace Theatre (Audio CD)
I've been taping shows and listening to the Road Kill albums for a few years now. Finally we've got another official live album. Thank goodness. Seven Nations is all about the live show. There's just an amazing vibe and feeling you get when you're there that won't let you stay sitting down. This album does a great job of capturing the essence of the 7N live performance; I have only a few minor complaints. The one thing missing (and I know that this might be a blessing for some) is the banter and side rants that always happen at a live show. All of that has been cut from the CD. It takes away from the feeling of "being there" that the earlier live albums got across so well. (Re: Bring Back That Sign! :):)) There are also short gaps between most of the songs, which I find rather annoying. Not enough to really detract from the album as a whole, but they're still noticeable. The album cover itself also has a kind of Photoshop look to it that I found kind of surprising.

Those few very minor complaints, however, don't affect my enjoyment of the album. I'm glad that they finally got around to mastering and releasing a live show. If you haven't heard 7N before, I highly recommend that you purchase this album over the others available here. It really captures the energy of the band and, although less polished than the studio albums, it gives you an idea of what the band can really do.

And, of course, it'll just make you want to see them in person, and that's what this is all about anyway, right? :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Wicked, awesome, totally amazing CD...., February 3, 2002
This review is from: Live at The Palace Theatre (Audio CD)
Enough said! If you only buy one CD this year, this should be it...if you buy two CDs this year, get two copies. Well, maybe that's overdoing it, but hey, you might wear the other one out from playing the totally infectious tracks over and over again. Consider yourself warned: Your friends may become addicted to "All You People"....

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!![.], June 23, 2003

I had never heard of Seven Nations before last night when I saw them at Harbor Fest in Racine, Wisconsin. I happened to get to the festival as they were on stage. I was completely blown away. I immediately asked someone next to me who they were and where they were from. After watching their show, I went out today and found this disk at a small CD store and bought it. It is great. I am so glad I happened to find out about this band and I can't wait to see them again.
