Finally...,
By
This review is from: Live at The Palace Theatre (Audio CD)
I've been taping shows and listening to the Road Kill albums for a few years now. Finally we've got another official live album. Thank goodness. Seven Nations is all about the live show. There's just an amazing vibe and feeling you get when you're there that won't let you stay sitting down. This album does a great job of capturing the essence of the 7N live performance; I have only a few minor complaints. The one thing missing (and I know that this might be a blessing for some) is the banter and side rants that always happen at a live show. All of that has been cut from the CD. It takes away from the feeling of "being there" that the earlier live albums got across so well. (Re: Bring Back That Sign! :):)) There are also short gaps between most of the songs, which I find rather annoying. Not enough to really detract from the album as a whole, but they're still noticeable. The album cover itself also has a kind of Photoshop look to it that I found kind of surprising. Those few very minor complaints, however, don't affect my enjoyment of the album. I'm glad that they finally got around to mastering and releasing a live show. If you haven't heard 7N before, I highly recommend that you purchase this album over the others available here. It really captures the energy of the band and, although less polished than the studio albums, it gives you an idea of what the band can really do. And, of course, it'll just make you want to see them in person, and that's what this is all about anyway, right? :)

Enough said! If you only buy one CD this year, this should be it...if you buy two CDs this year, get two copies. Well, maybe that's overdoing it, but hey, you might wear the other one out from playing the totally infectious tracks over and over again. Consider yourself warned: Your friends may become addicted to "All You People"....

I had never heard of Seven Nations before last night when I saw them at Harbor Fest in Racine, Wisconsin. I happened to get to the festival as they were on stage. I was completely blown away. I immediately asked someone next to me who they were and where they were from. After watching their show, I went out today and found this disk at a small CD store and bought it. It is great. I am so glad I happened to find out about this band and I can't wait to see them again.

Seven Nations Live - Still the best!,

Seven Nations is an amazing live band. There's just no way to describe it. I can go on and on about how awesome and talented they are, but you won't believe it unless you go out and watch them in concert. They're always touring so look on their web site: www.sevennations.com. I'm sure they'll be in your area soon. Anyway, I love them. I have seen them live upwards of 15 times! Buy it and see them live!

Those new to Seven Nations will get the feel of the live shows, which is even more energetic and warm than the studio releases.Everyone performs as amazingly as always. But some of the highlights on the cd are Dan's dancing and Scott's piping solos. This is the first cd on which you get to hear Dan dance......For those who are already fans it is another great live cd to add to the Seven Nations collection....also not to be missed is the companion video for this cd......

I have not had the pleasure of seeing Seven Nations live (yet) but after listening to this CD I surely will go see them if I ever have the opportunity. Really great energy, love the pipes, way hard-working drummer. I'm not a music reviewer, so anything more I'd say would be a feeble attempt, I just know that I'll be listening to this CD a lot.

This is my favorite CD when I am tired and driving at night. With the bag pipes and rock music I enjoy it over and over.

Seven Nations is is a great band who deliver an ecletic sound of great lyrics, fiddles, and pipes. They are legendary for their live perfomances, myself seeing them many times. This CD captures their amazing and fun live sound. This CD engulfs the listener with a terrific mix of lyricaly impressive songs and an amazing traditional sound. The fiddle player Dan (who also does traditional step dancing) is in a league of his own. He is a true master of his instrument and will blow you away with his sound. This CD is for those who love traditional irish music at its best and those who are intrigued by an amazing melding of rock and irish fervour. A must have!

Anyone that has heard this album will tell you that it is difficult to hear without feeling the need to move. Tap your feet, clap, dance, whatever... just don't sit still! Seven Nations has produced some fine music in the past, but their live performances, from large venues right down to smaller clubs, never disappoint, and with "Palace Theater" you feel like you are right there with them. This is a fine album, and will probably be remembered as their best.

I have to make this brief, because I haven't had a chance to listen to this CD yet. I just came back from my first Seven Nations concert, and I LOVED it!!!! I have never been to anything like it before. The music was so amazing, all the band members were so talented, and the banter between songs was hilarious. All I can say, if the CD can capture even a fraction of how good a live show is, buy it, buy it, buy it!
