I absolutely love the Jill Scott Live in Paris+ DVD! It captures her amazing vocal ability, transparent lyrics, and versatility. The way that Jill Scott engaged the audience makes you feel as if you were actually there. I also loved the remixed and extended versions of Jill Scott classics. I thought it was cool how she gave the musicians a chance to shine. Her band gave a lot of energy to the concert. Overall, if you're fan of genuine talent and creativity, you should buy the Live in Paris+ DVD!

A "must have" if you are a fan of Jill Scott's music! It was as if you were there front and center grooving to the smooth sound and beats of Jill and her band!

I had already had a taste of Ms Scott live on her "Experience" CD a few years ago - she was indeed in very good form, gave sparkling performances overall and basically sold me on her as an artist who shines not only in the studio but in live performances.

This latest project is quite simply mesmerizing. The CD/DVD combo is a MUST for Jill Scott fans. While the CD cuts are indeed good, seeing her perform them is an added bonus. She is good with an audience and the tasty camera work done to capture the feel of the the concert and its excitement is indeed a plus. But Jill simply shines with that wonderful smile of hers, her improvisational skills are top-notch, her lyrics are little short of amazing and she manages to create quite an intimate setting/showcase for her many talents. Her set at the House of Blues was tight as well. She also put fresh spins on some of her old hits - check out "Golden" - off the chain!!!!!

Another woooooooooooooooooooooonderful surprise is her incomparable accompanying musicians, most notably her keyboardist....her backup vocalists and band members got a real chance to shine....as Jill so aptly put it "nothing here but voices and musicians and god-given talent!" It is indeed rare to capture the spontaneity of musicians all on one accord and feeling each other to produce a phenomenal musical experience. This was DEFINITELY the case here!

If you are a Jill Scott fan, get this right away....you will NOT be disappointed in the least. Even if you are not a Scott fan, if you appreciate good music, and Jill and her band incorporate a number of styles here, there is enough variety to satisfy even the most discriminating tastes.

This dvd is amazing and just shows Jill doing what she does best, singing the most amazing songs and doing it extremely well. If you love the "Beautifully Human" album, then you MUST own this! Let's start supporting great artists, so that we may get more great music...

Many believe that true soul music is where it's at, not the trendy, borderline Pop that gets labeled as R&B just because of the artist's skin color or subject matter. Jill Scott has never purported to be some high and mighty songstress that can sing anybody under the table, but she surely can. And when you listen (and watch) Live In Paris+, you will undoubtedly see that she is truly like no other. Fresh off the release of her latest studio album The Real Thing: Words And Sounds Vol. 3, Jill blesses us with yet another live album (the first being Disc 1 of the Experience: Jill Scott 826+ album) but this time from Paris, France. The songs are all familiar, but the delivery of each selection is exquisite to say the least. Songs on the cd include The Way, Whatever, The Fact Is (I Need You), Golden, My Petition, Rasool, Bedda At Home, and He Loves Me (Lyzel In E Flat). The DVD includes performances for all these songs as well as 4 additional live performances from the House of Blues in Los Angeles. Believe me when I say that Live in Paris+ is worth every penny. You already know that Jill has the chops and her band Fat Back Taffy are stellar at all times. If you've never seen her perform live, you might as well start with Live In Paris+.

I had seen her perform as an actress in #1 Woman's Detective Agency on HBO. I have followed her since. This performance is great! She and audience seem to know eachother intimately and she uses that to make an amazing set of musical numbers. If you like blues, jazz, and a wonderful voice, Jill is the one.

Jill Scott, Never disappoints! She is one of the Greatest lyrical singing, beat keeping, poetry writing, love understanding artist of all time! She keeps me hanging on for more. Each time I hear her sing with so much passion,she tells a story that you can't but remember a time when you, yourself may have experienced that very thing!

I'll admit from the start that I am a huge fan of Jill Scott, but even by her high standards this album is incredible. The liner notes describe it as magical and I am inclined to agree. You get a great selection of tracks from her first and second album and the audience atmosphere is electric. 'Golden' has an excellent jazzy segue way, 'The Fact Is (I need you)' is sung with passion so strong it is almost palpable and when she talks to the audience afterwards you really feel her connection to them and feel her message. Like she has always said, she is an artist rather than an entertainer and you sense that strongly on this album. Jill Scott live is a powerful experience and this album reflects that. The fact that this comes with a DVD only adds to the value, but I'd be happy with the CD alone. The DVD is a powerful viewing experience, and seeing her perform 'Rasool', and how she truly feels the song, is extremely moving. It's not often I'd say this about an artist but Jill Scott is someone that you need in your life and once you hear her there's no going back, and nor would you want to. Sublime and soulful!!

The rest of it was okay and the accompanying DVD is an added intimate bonus. I still sold mine though where I could not get past the noisy and needless opening version of one of her most beautiful songs rewritten to fit a Heavy Metal arrangement. That destroyed the whole thing for me. I already have "826+," so it's not like she brought it to THAT MUCH of a different level here anyway. Hopefully, the next release will consist of some new studio material.

If you love Jill you'll love this DVD. The sound is excellent. The video quality is excellent. Buy it you won't be dissapointed.
