Brilliant, largely unknown live act, April 26, 2004
G.B. Leighton is a really good band that started out in the twin cities playing at a couple bars every week. My best friend introduced me to them as his favorite band, and I must say they are very talented. But I finally saw them live in the summer of 2002, and it was one of my favorite concerts I've ever been to. I saw them at the bandshell in Hudson, WI, and it was so incredible because he performs so well with his audience, reacting to and playing for them. Almost at the end of the concert, it started to rain pretty heavily; the band went off stage to wait it out, but in response to all our cheering, Brian Leighton (the lead vocals/guitar) came back out and chatted with us, and began playing some music by himself, until the rest of the band finally decided to come out a little while later. It was an amazing musical experience, and it was overall one of the best live acts I've seen--the kind of musician who does that is just sweet. After that concert I bought "It's All Good" and "Come Alive." This live recording portrays their exceptional ability to perform live, and I recommend it highly, especially for their older song (my favorite), "one foot over." You'll most certainly enjoy this band.

you won't talk through this CD, January 5, 2002
I heard this CD while a passenger in a friend's car and had to have it. Not only are there some unique songs (like PICKLE PARK) but the sound and energy of this group can't be ignored. SWEET JANE plays and I stop what I'm doing to sing along. The sound can't be ignored. It's not all rock, though. ONE FOOT OVER is more reflective but nonetheless an attention getter. I can't understand why this group is not more well known. GB Leighton is a must hear.

Brilliant Live Band!, August 27, 2001
I had never heard of G B Leighton but I was fortunate enough to see them at the Bishopstock festival near Exeter in England this August and bought the album as a result. I was astonished by their brilliant live performance which took the show by storm. This album is a really great showcase of what this fabulous band can do and I only hope we get to see and hear more of them on this side of the Atlantic.
