Biography

Though they had all the trappings of a Southern-fried blues band, Little Feat were hardly conventional. Led by songwriter/guitarist Lowell George, Little Feat were a wildly eclectic band, bringing together strains of blues, R&B, country, and rock & roll. The bandmembers were exceptionally gifted technically and their polished professionalism sat well with the slick sounds coming out of southern… Read more in Amazon's Little Feat Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Rock and Roll Lover, November 12, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Live at the Rams Head (Audio CD)
Wow Little Feat all acoustic on two CD's. I do like the electric
stuff better, but this CD does not have a bad song on it.
Shaun Murphy shines on the CD, Her singing on "On Your Way Down"
gave me goose bumps. I didn't think "Easy To Slip" could be sung
by anyone but Lowell George. I was proved wrong, Easy To Slip
and I Know You Rider was the High Light for me.
Rams Head will be in my CD player for a long time.

3.0 out of 5 stars I hate to, but, December 27, 2002
This review is from: Live at the Rams Head (Audio CD)
I bought this on the strength of the band, and yes they are great musicians all. But this record just doesn't work for me. Shawn's voice sounds a little to pushed, the keyboard solo's seem to wander and what makes the guitar sounds so great electric, just isn't there for me. I mean no disrespect to the band, but I just can't get into this record. In some ways I agree with the much maligned evolu10484. The new feat is great in ways that the old feat were not, and vice versa. I have Waiting for Columbus in my player now........

I really hate to have to write this, because to me Little Feat, bar none, is the finest rock band to walk the earth. That said this an extremely dissapointing album. Though I must say I haven't been able to get thru it all (it possibly gets better towards the end, but I doubt it). All my bitchin' is not pointed toward the band, as usual they're at there best. My complaint is the sound, it SUCKS. I know I am spoiled by Waiting for Columbus. But this sounds as if they are using a boot-leg master. The vocals seem to not even be in the same building as the rest of the concert. With technology what it is today there is no excuse for this. A Little Feat accoustic concert should have been "da bomb" as the kids say. We Feat fans deserve better.
