Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Just picture it: A rainy Sunday afternoon in August during the " Summer Darkness" Gothic Festival in Utrecht (NL) 2004. Over 300 Gothies crowded into the 10th century St. John's Church, silent and expectant. Submerged in hardstone acoustics like a cathedral and with no amplification. The sun came out, Omnia played, we taped it, this is it. Omnia as live as it gets. Just the band and an audience of the black family in " Little Leipzig". No electronics, no pretence. Omnia is joined in their Pagan Prayers by members of the group 'Faun' for a duo set Faun/Omnia, making the magic spell even more potent. Includes Elf in Concert (2003), photo gallery , slideshows and desktop wallpapers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lively and Live Pagan Music, May 8, 2007
By David J. Mehling (Anderson, IN) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I bought this CD about a year ago on the recomendation of a Wiccan online friend in the Netherlands who has seen this group live several times. I was not disappointed, just a little lost at the Dutch dialog. Fortunatly for me, this friend e-mailed me a translation of the dialog and the spoken parts of the last three tracks are in English.

This is one of the best live recordings I have ever heard. There is very little noise from the audience and no static or feedback. Both instruments and vocals recorded sharply and you can easily imagine that you are there. There is also a good selection of still photos and two videos on the CD if you play it in your computer. The German group Fuan plays with them for the last three songs and they mesh very well.

The music varies from quieter numbers like Mabon and Bran while Saltalio makes you feel like dancing and Morrigan builds up to a peak with the audience joining in at the last part. By the way, I once used this song in ritual and it fit the purpose very well. The last song Aufa Luonto is based on a Finnish magickal chant and I believe it could also work well in a ritual setting. I would recommend this CD for anyone who likes Pagan music with punch and a lively edge.
