Three 6 Mafia definitely own on this short but sweet EP. As like alot of people, I was introduced to the Hypnotize Camp Posse and Three 6 after 'When The Smoke Clears' was released, and I was very impressed. I didn't expect much else, but then I got this underground album and I was blown away. Ever since I've got this album, I've been obsessed with Three 6. I suggest this CD to more horrorcore/underground rap music fans. This CD is very, very different from 'When The Smoke Clears' or their newer albums and projects. Onto the review...
The first track, 'A New Nitemare', is basically an intro, but a fresh intro and tight way to open up this EP. They chant 'Triple 6 Mafia' and it gets me pumped up for the rest of the record. The next track is titled 'Triple 6 Mafia', and is more of an interlude song with Paul and Juice tellin' ya'll whats up. Very, very fresh production skills and voice effect from the Super Producers on this one. The third track, one of my favorites, is 'Throw Yo Setts In Da Air'. Extremely wicked and underground track right here, if you have doubtz of buying this ep., just give a listen or two to this track and that will change your mind. This waz the first song I heard from this ep and I knew immediatly I waz gonna buy it. The fourth track iz by former Three 6 member Koopsta Knicca, titled 'Slippin'. Koopsta spitz some wicked flowz on this short track and deliverz to the best, just like he did when he waz with Triple 6 and just like he doez to this day. Props to the Koop. The next track is some old-school flavor by the sinister group, Killa Klan Kaze, called 'Be A Witness', a track of murder and violence. Can't get much better then that. MC Mack, Scan Man and crew let you know whatz goin' on. Enough said. Now, my favorite track, 'Live By Yo Rep(B.O.N.E. Dis)'. If you had any doubtz of Three 6'z gangsta/killa credibility, look no further then this track right here. Strait-up fresh, killer-style Three 6 at their best. My favorite track ever by Three 6. You must hear this track. Following this song is a 'Screwed' remix of the track, just slowed down, nothing special. The original owns all. I think Bone Thugs are gonna think harder before they diss tha M-Town. The last track, 'Tear Da Club Up(Da Real)' has been widely heard and is also tight, this iz tha original song right here. And az I said above, the original ownz all. All in all, buy this ep if you like the underground/horrorcore type of Three 6 Mafia or are just a big fan of tha H.C.P. I never felt their music az much az I've felt this short ep. Worth it all out. Bry-Bry (Gangzta Style)

Uncut Triple Six,
By MidnightVulture (Demonic Abyss) - See all my reviews

This EP of eight tracks has an indescribable cryptic feel to it. This short recording has everything. The lyrics are pictorial and often paint a suprisingly pleasing morbid picture as illustrated on Track 3, "Throw yo setts in da air." Gangsta boo starts it off with an addictive verse that reveals her poetic fire, and the final verse by the Scarecrow, more commonly known as Lord Infamous, has to be heard; it's simply striking. Track 2, "Triple 6 Mafia," is a quick and brief summary of the members personalities or characteristics. DJ Paul raps solo on this song and his delivery is on point. Track 6, "Live By Yo Rep (Screwed)," stretches the listeners imagination as the members rap on the subject of murder and slow torture. This song is slowed down and that makes it more effective, especially when Juicy J's verse comes up, it will have you flashing back to a scene from the movie Scream. Track 8, "Tear da club up (Da Real)," is my second favorite joint on this EP besides track no.3. Lord Infamous' verse is real sweet. The triple six mafia did three versions of this anthem of mayhem. The other two are found on Chpt. 2:World Domination & Club Memphis Underground Volume 2. If you prefer the older three six stuff or if you enjoy listening to Horrocore rap and/or Hardcore rap then this is especially for you. Buy this EP.

Okay, i think yall foolz dat rate thiz less den 5 starz dunno what EP meanz. EP usually contain 4-10 songs on tha album. Thiz 3-6 iz da $h!t. Prolly iz tha 2nd best 3-6 cd dey made cuz all tha songz are wicked n sicc!!! I like all da songz on diz album. Especially "Live By Yo Rep" which they ripp Bone Thugz apart in diz song (U gotta hear da last Lord Infamous verse and Paul's voice in da background at da end). They shouldve put in the street version of Live By Yo Rep because they have better voices in dat song then in mystic styles and Paul killed it when he sendz a message to Bone without using swearin at tha end of tha song (He uses "$h!t" into "Sure"...i think datz whut he said...but thatz whut killed it). Also they forgot to add in Playa Flys verse in that song too. Thiz cd iz prolly tha wickest 3-6 out of all of'em...eitha dat or mystic stylez. But thiz iz worth yo money. But u gotta know what EP meanz before u buy thiz album cuz theze foolz dat rate less den 5 starz dunno.

THEIR FIERY START,

This is classic three six mafia at its best. Arguably one of their most influential and controversal songs, "Throw yo setts in da air" leaves an indelible imprint in your mind after listening to it. "Triple 6 Mafia" is short and sweet as DJ Paul puts his touch to this track. If you like the underground three six better, then you will enjoy this Cd. It offers the same sinister surges found in Mystic Stylez.

Try Listening to Triple 6 Mafia the REAL Way,

For all of you people out there that don't like the way Triple 6 Mafia flows you're out of your mind. This CD is short and a little over priced but you use this as kind of a bass CD when your drive. I bass this CD with 2 12" Infinity's with a 400watt amp. Now play the CD with that and you'll see what's up

Nowadays, you see Triple Six Mafia on the radio and on TV, blowing up with their hit "Stay High" with Eightball & MJG and Young Buck. Or maybe back in 2003 you saw them stopping their cars while their spinners kept spinning with "Ridin Spinners". But back in 1995, 10 years ago, did you see them bring that devilish music to Bone Thugs N Harmony (which are a good group by the way, but this dis is good too) with "Live By Yo Rep"? I didn't think so. Yes, when you pick this album up, you'll hear a completely different sound than Ridin Spinners or Stay High, or even Sippin on Some Syrup. This is when Triple Six were at their lyrical best and insanely torturous. Tracks like "Throw Yo Setts In Da Air" and "Tear Da Club Up" (this is the first original Tear Da Club Up type track they did) brought out Triple Six's hardcore style. "Slippin" by Koopsta Knicca brings back a sample of himself off the track "F**kin wit Dis Click" on the Mystic Styles album. I love his flow and sound on this one. He really sounds crazy on this track. "Be A Witness" is another crazy track. Killa Klan Kaze bring some serious heat. Their flows are crazy on this as well. Good production behind the boards with DJ Paul and Juicy J (they produce this whole EP I think). Actually, every beat on this album is perfect. Of course, there's "Live By Yo Rep". Damn they demonically ripped Bone apart with this one. Bone Thugs had said things about Memphis rap music and they bit off Triple Six's style back in '94 and '95, and Triple Six brought that devil music to Bone hard. The 1st real track on the album, other than the intro, is the self titled "Triple Six Mafia". This is a great opening track to get you hyped for the rest of it. This is a nearly perfect EP, and a Triple Six classic. Even though most of the members showcased here are no longer with Triple Six or even affiliated with them at all (the only members left of Triple Six are DJ Paul, Juicy J, and Crunchy Blac). Gangsta Boo, Koopsta Knicca (he was one of the best), Lord Infamous (so was he), Killa Klan Kaze, and Playa Fly and all of them are nowhere on Triple Six's new album "The Most Known Unknown". However, this album is the real Triple Six, so if you're sleeping on the newer stuff they're releasing, don't sleep on this. This is hard as hell.

Hey man, I read your review and I would have to agree with you on the wicked part. It seems that they don't know what to come up with now. For example, Choices 2, it was good but not as good as thier other stuff like Choices 1. It feels like they lost the feeling for music that they had before like "When the Smoke Clears," that was a cool CD. Hey, you know what happend to La Chat, Murder She Spoke was a kick @ss CD.
