5.0 out of 5 stars Third Day "Live Revelations Tour" DVD/CD = A Great Documentary (with Live Performances) on Tour + A 9 Live Song CD = A1+ !!!!!!
First the Dvd: This is a GREAT 75 minute "documentary" of Third Day on their "Pre-Revelations Tour"(INCLUDING SEVERAL COMPLETE "LIVE PERFORMANCES", FILMED IN DIFFERENT CITIES). These performances were filmed during the fall of 2008. Its "cool", because you get to see them traveling from city to city. Plus, the live performances are simply "awesome" (THEY ROCK!!!) 2.0 out of 5 stars CD lacking
I was disapointed to discover that the audio cd was so short. Only 7 songs. I was on a road trip and the cd was so short I thought my copilot flipped to another one, but then later I checked and the cd is not a full length cd. I have Toby Mac's Live and Transported cd. It contains 21 songs and it is at one concert. It provides good entertainment plus a really good sence...

5.0 out of 5 stars Third Day "Live Revelations Tour" DVD/CD = A Great Documentary (with Live Performances) on Tour + A 9 Live Song CD = A1+ !!!!!!, April 7, 2009
This review is from: Live Revelations (CD/DVD) (Audio CD)
First the Dvd: This is a GREAT 75 minute "documentary" of Third Day on their "Pre-Revelations Tour"(INCLUDING SEVERAL COMPLETE "LIVE PERFORMANCES", FILMED IN DIFFERENT CITIES). These performances were filmed during the fall of 2008. Its "cool", because you get to see them traveling from city to city. Plus, the live performances are simply "awesome" (THEY ROCK!!!) I got to see Third Day (live) on their "Revelations Tour", and yes, these guys can rock!!! You get to see the band members "on stage", "off stage" and "backstage". Plus, you get to see them with some of their family members and with fans (signing autographs, etc.) Also, you get to see them helping Hurricane victims down in Galveston, Texas, and working with "Habitat For Humanity" in Nashville, Tennessee. The DVD also, contains significant bonus performances and material.

Now, the "Live CD": It consists of 9 songs performed in different cities. It is "cool", because you get to hear Mac talk to the various audiences.
This is an excellent "Live CD", very well performed, produced, and recorded. The songs are as follows:

1.Run to You - in Atlanta.
2.This is Who I am. - in Raleigh, NC.
3.Slow Down - Nashville.
4.I Will Always be True - in Atlanta
5.Cry Out to Jesus - Houston, TX
6.Call My Name - in Nashville
7.Otherside (featuring guest musician Robert Randolph) - Atlanta
8.When Love Comes to Town (a U2 song, Originally written & recorded by U2),(This one includes: Robert Randolph & Jars of Clay & Switchfoot) it was recorded in Atlanta.
9.Revelation/Honeysuckle Blue - recorded in Atlanta.

Overall, this is a great "Live" DVD/CD combo, and I highly, gladly recommend it!!! You'll Love It!!! Thanks, and may God Bless!!!

Third Day would have done a better job if the audio cd was longer and of only one concert.

I've always loved this CD and continue to give it away if I'm lead to and then just buy a new one. This purchase was pretty straight forward and of course, I always look forward to getting my "replacement" copy..What a great CD by a great band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome cd for the price!, August 8, 2009
This review is from: Live Revelations (CD/DVD) (Audio CD)
This was my first cd by Third Day and I am already a fan. It has a nice collection of songs, and they are all performed live. I think some of the songs are better performed live, than on the regular album. The songs have an edge to them, and you can feel the excitement of the crowd. It also includes a behind-the-scenes DVD of the band on tour. It shows how they relate together as a band, as individuals, and with their families. A great buy!

If you're a huge fan of Third Day than there is absolutely no reason on the planet to avoid this CD/DVD Live set! The song selection could be larger and include more songs from different albums but hey...it's Live Revelations. If you want a song collection of their best hits over the years, then I would strongly recommend picking up their Chronology Vol. 1 & 2. The real deal is the 75 minute documentary that includes not only live songs from their latest album "Revelation" shot in different cities including Raleigh,NC and of course Atlanta,GA, but also goes into what many people don't really see a lot...the lives of each band member and their families. The love of God that these men have for their fans, families and the people affected in natural disasters like Hurricane Ike( which is highlighted) is the number 1 reason their the best band around. They pray for people and really act on their faith and do what Jesus tells us to do as Christians. I'm not saying that other's don't, but it is really brought out here in the DVD. God will bless this band for many more years as long as they carry the light of Jesus everywhere they go. Get it! You will not be sorry! You will be blessed!

3.0 out of 5 stars CD good. DVD not., April 28, 2009

The live CD is fine. I would give it 4 out of 5 stars.
The DVD on the other hand isn't very good. The video quality isn't that great in some parts. It isn't even in 5.1 digital surround sound - it is only in 2 channel stereo! No concert DVD should be like this. There is a bunch of 'on the road' footage mixed into the concert footage - which isn't that interesting to me. I have been waiting for a good DVD of Third Day's most recent tour - and it looks like I get to keep on waiting. All that should be in the main program on the DVD is the concert - in 5.1 digital surround sound - everything else should be in special features. I would give the DVD 2 out of 5 stars. Perhaps that is why this combo DVD/CD is inexpesive. I would have gladly paid more for a good concert DVD recorded in 5.1 surround sound with good video quality as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Third Day in context, April 18, 2009

This review is from: Live Revelations (CD/DVD) (Audio CD)
If context is important in interpreting Scripture, it's also helpful in getting to know Third Day. Live Revelations follows the concert DVD trend of taking the viewer behind the scenes between song performances.

This documents the fall 2008 Music Builds Tour, which Third Day co-headlined with Switchfoot. It records times and destinations, life on the tour bus, backstage banter before and after concerts, meeting with fans, getting together with family in Atlanta (the band's hometown), interaction with Nigel James (Tour Pastor), and other events along the way.

Viewers get to follow the band through their days to the stage and off again. One of the most touching moments is hearing the band members talk about their families and seeing how they interact. "Born Again" from Revelation plays not only in the background but also on heartstrings as you see the sacrifices that these families make. Other songs from Revelation serve as background for other segments, so there's no shortage of music on this DVD.

The majority of the concert songs are from Revelation, but you also get a short, acoustic version of "Cry Out to Jesus," in which the audience sings along. In addition, Third Day perform the reworked version of "Thief," originally from their first album, and "I've Got a Feeling" and "Rockstar" from Wire.

It's not until the second half of the DVD, during the Nashville segment, that you have more than one song together. In the previous sections, the pattern is one song followed by a look behind the scenes and then another song. You get three uninterrupted songs in the Nashville sequence.

The performances and technical aspects are all excellent. Robert Randolph makes the only DVD guest appearance on "Otherside." The flames on the screens in the background are entirely appropriate as Randolph and the band heat it up with passionate playing.

The CD has a couple of songs not found on the DVD. The most interesting is a performance of the old U2 song "When Love Comes to Town," which brings together Third Day, Robert Randolph, Jars of Clay and Switchfoot.

The sound on the CD is not as clean as I would like, but it may be as close to normal as they could get for a rock concert. The CD serves as a nice extra--the DVD is clearly the main attraction.

The highlight of the bonus material is the music video for "Revelation." It includes numerous images of what is known as "Salvation Mountain." Located in the California desert outside of Palm Springs, this is artist Leonard Knight's visual presentation of the gospel. The cover art (also found on the Revelation CD) is a representation of the mountain. Live performances of "Slow Down" and "Tunnel" are also part of the bonus material.

Third Day rocks on this release but what I appreciate most is the fascinating look into their lives. Viewers will appreciate the authenticity. This is a must-have for Third Day fans and a great way for anyone to get to know the band better.
