Biography

Glass Hammer is a progressive rock band from Chattanooga, Tennessee. They formed in 1992 when multi-instrumentalists Steve Babb (then known as "Stephen DeArqe") and Fred Schendel began to write and record Journey of the Dunadan, a concept album based on the story of Aragorn from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. To their surprise, the album sold several thousand units via the Internet, TV… Read more in Amazon's Glass Hammer Store

Be Ware. The musicanship is out standing but if you don't like electric drums (and I don't) the you will be very disappointed.
I purchased this Live effort in an attempt to "Get into " this band. Whoops. There are 3 substancial traks with a full band and these are outstanding, Somethings Coming, The Song of Dunanan,& Time Marches on |Full band -FANTASTIC- The balace sound like 80's ELP and that God awfull Yes Album UNION. Try Somthing else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Glass Hammer a melodic rock treasure!, May 6, 2002
By
This review is from: Live And Revived (Audio CD)
For the past decade Glass Hammer have given us some truly wonderful music, mostly in the "progressive" rock vein. Listeners of their studio albums will be reminded of Yes, ELP, Genesis, Jethro Tull, and others of the majestic, artful rock genre. Yet Glass Hammer make a statement all their own, with intelligent (though sometimes funny!)lyrics, precise yet flowing instrumentation, and well-written arrangements. LIVE AND REVIVED will give people a glimpse of what the band was doing during the first few years of its existence, through a combination of studio tracks and rehearsal recordings. The band's musical prowess, songwriting, and sense of humor are all evident on this gem of a recording. Everyone needs to know about this band!! Thank you, Glass Hammer, for giving us yet another musical treat!
