Long live Fusion,

This is a live disc from bassist Richie Goods' band. Great covers of Weather Report, R.T.F. and more, and 4 originals. I am led to believe
that this disc documents their first gig together as a band. The sound is near flawless. Has to be one of the best live recordings out there. The line-up is as follows:Richie Goods (bass), Helen Sung (keyboards), Jeff Lockhart (guitar), Mike Clark (drums) They have great chemistry and one for sees great things from them. All in all the 70's ain't dead, long live Fusion!

When the Headhunters recently released their new Platinum CD I was curious about the bass player who seemed to be able to funk it up as well as Paul Jackson. So I searched and found this release. With Mike Clark on drums and two Headhunter tunes, this is a must have for Headhunters fans. But it's also a really fine fusion album.
The release showcases Goods as having the goods, covering ground that has been laid by Alphonso Johnson, Stanley Clarke and Paul Jackson -- on some classic jazz rock, funk and fusion tunes that should be familiar. And he covers them ably. Goods has also recently played on Lenny White's Anomaly, and has actually been around for a while -- he just wasn't on my radar. I hope to hear more from him.
