4.0 out of 5 stars Really good music
Live at Roxy 4 is certainly a good purchase. The first cd has a an electro feeling to it while the second has deeper bases and Rauhofer's personal tribal tone. I bought it a couple of weeks after he played at a club in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I didn't give it 5 stars since I thought the first CD wasn't as good as the second. 3.0 out of 5 stars Not my fav
Peter is my fav DJ/Producer, and I'm on a mission to have a complete *69 label collection, but I would recommend a previous Roxy disc if you can't buy them all.

Excellent dance music and remixes of several songs include Madonna. Stuff to clean the house to, to party to, to enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Peter's best work yet, March 23, 2005
By
This review is from: Live @ Roxy 4 (Audio CD)
Peter is a friend of JustCircuit. When you listen to this 2-CD collection, Peter will be YOUR friend as well....

In the years of following Rauhofer and Star69 Records, never have I heard a collection as fun as it is musical. Those who consider Peter to be "pots and pans" are in for an amazing surprise and hours of revelation! The Grammy award-winning Rauhofer is playing a major role in the reinvention of the Circuit by bringing the crowds the music they like to hear, unlike any other. This Austrian master proves with this release that it really is all about the music. He puts his life into his mixes, and one can easily tell by Live@Roxy4.

"I LIKE IT" on Disc One is my personal favorite. The reaction of the crowd when this song is played is a show in itself! "Move Your Body" opens the colletion, making you look twice at the track you opened. "Is this really PETER?" I ask myself....This song alone blurs the classification. ClubDance/Electronica/TranceElectric....Leave it to a master to reinvent an entire class!

If you enjoy music as much as I do, I'm sure you'll agree that this work is outstanding and a "must-have" for your collection!

4.0 out of 5 stars Rauhofer FINALLY finally fixes this series..., August 12, 2005
This review is from: Live @ Roxy 4 (Audio CD)
Track 1 is a good sign of things to come on volume 4. It is a surprise to find rauhofer starting with something so strong for a change. Although disc 1 is short on vocals to brake up the monotony of the instrumentals (track 4 is a standout), the song selection is surprisingly energetic, considering all his other volumes have been sleep inducing. The real reason to get this disc is for unreleased tracks like the Rauhofer mix of Madonna (nearly 10 minutes long) and the Rauhofer mix of David Morales on disc 2, which also features a handful of strong vocal tracks. This second disc is by far offers the closest thing to a peak hour feel at the Roxy of all the discs on all 4 volumes. Track times are:

CD1
1. move your body (6:28)
2. Sound of the drum (8:07)
3. Psyofuk (5:29)
4. I like it (7:29)
5. Do I look like a slut (6:27)
6. Falldown (5:10)
7. Want my body (4:55)
8. Tribal madness (7:00)
9. Mighty wind (6:40)
10. Bang 04 (6:57)
11. Mysteriosa (6:44)

CD2
1. The Music (8:56)
2. Mother & father (9:37)
3. Re used (4:29)
4. Sexercise (5:59)
5. Master of drums (6:14)
6. Mow would u feel (7:23)
7. Kinda new (6:12)
8. That's the way I like it (7:59)
9. killer (7:14)
10. Waiting in the darkness (6:56)
11. insanity (5:58)

5.0 out of 5 stars 2nd CD track # 8, May 10, 2005
This review is from: Live @ Roxy 4 (Audio CD)
That is one of the best dance tracks I have ever heard. Get this album for this song. You will like everything else on as well, but this song really stands out. Disc 2 is better than Disc 1, but it is still very enjoying to listen to. Peter Rahoufer is getting very close to "God" with this release.

4.0 out of 5 stars Live at Roxy 4, April 12, 2005

Since Peter is no longer at Roxy, this should be the last of the Live at Roxy series for Mr. Rauhofer.

Of the 2 CD's, I found the second one to be much more listenable for my tastes -- which includes more vocals. Would have to say that my four favorite tracks are all on the second CD. These are the tracks by Madonna (my favorite of all), plus Seal, Offer Nissim and David Morales. Have only listened to the first CD a couple of times -- and it is typical Peter -- so anyone who is familiar with him will not be disappointed in CD1.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Addition, April 6, 2005
This review is from: Live @ Roxy 4 (Audio CD)
What can I say about Pete that you may not know? Well nothing since the man is excellent, in turning a single into a dance floor anthem. This Cd is as good as the others, a tad drab and musical at times, then blows you away with vocals, so one never knows what to expect. This CD contains the unreleased (except on 12" P.R. Roxy 4 track sampler) of the new Madonna "Mother and Father". The Sampler 12" vinyl of the new Madonna is great very close to 11 min in length, and simply excellent, as all Pete's work tends to be. 5.0 out of 5 stars This is HARD!, April 1, 2005
This review is from: Live @ Roxy 4 (Audio CD)
Just a few thoughts... This album is really hard and tribal - harder then previous roxy albums (how hard would have to be roxy 5... i just cant imagine). Peter's mixing is better with each year i must say. Only 1 bad thing is track no. 3 on cd1 - sounds low quality and is just bad (no idea how it got there). Everything else sounds amazing!!! - tested on Creative Gigaworks S750.

5.0 out of 5 stars PETER RAUHOFER ROCKS!, March 31, 2005
This review is from: Live @ Roxy 4 (Audio CD)
I've been such a Peter Rauhofer fan since he remixed Madonna's "Nothing Really Matters" single during 1999...Peter made such a good job remixing all Madonna's hits...and even up to now "Mother and Father" Re-invention Mix still kicks the bass out of my headphones and gives me goosebumps.

What I really love on this compilation is "Sexercise"...it's like orgasm on the dance floor!

Wat to go Peter!

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid dance and vocal house music, March 9, 2005
By
Asad (California, United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Live @ Roxy 4 (Audio CD)
As far as DJ remixes and vocal house go, Peter Rauhofer is a pretty safe bet. Not only is the guy brilliant, but with the ability to blend his trademark remix style into some great dance singles, his music is memorable and inspiring. On this installment of his Live at Roxy series, he offers some of the strongest and interesting dance tracks including 'Sexercise,' 'I Like It,' 'Insanity' and 'Warm Leatherette.' Two tracks that make this compilation worthy on their own, are K&S Project's "The Music" and the incredibly original mix of Johnny Vicious' "Bang." With catchy hooks, incredible beats and shiver-inspiring rythm, collaborations with dance incons such as David Morales, Offer Nissim, Robbie Rivera, Madonna and Inaya Day make this one of the best dance compilations I have heard since Junior Vasquez' Twilo collection.
