5.0 out of 5 stars All Killer, No Filler
In a live setting, The Killers really take their music to the next level! I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the DVD or the CD. Everything, from the music, to the video quality (and even the packaging) is perfect. Brandon's vocals are clear, with a wide and incredible range. Dave's guitar comes in at all the right moments. 3.0 out of 5 stars The Killers Live...finally
One of the biggest bands of this decade is without a doubt The Killers. They rocketed to the top of the charts with their debut, Hot Fuss, in 2004 and they've been selling out arenas, headlining festivals, and selling millions of copies of their albums ever since. For a band so well known for their live performances, it was only a matter of time before a live CD/DVD was...

Mark Stoermer's bass playing is some of the best that I've seen in a really long time! And of course, there's Ronnie's drums that tie everything all together. The band really feeds off the crowd, and you can tell there's no other place the crowd would rather be. These boys can really put on a good show! Just as I was losing faith in modern music, The Killers came along and turned everything around for me. This live DVD is long overdue

5.0 out of 5 stars The Killers: One Of The Best Bands Today- Captured Live, November 10, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Live from the Royal Albert Hall (Audio CD)
"The Killers: Live at the Royal Albert Hall" showcases the band's incredible skill, as musicians, and as performers.

All of the great songs from all of The Killers albums (Hot Fuss, Sam's Town, Sawdust, and Day & Age) are on this DVD.

Each and every song keeps you on the edge of your seat, wanting more. When I watched the concert, the time flew by very quickly. The performance did not drag on at all. The flow from one song to the next was seamless.

The audio mixing is done incredibly well; the vocals and the instruments are clear and present at the front, but you still feel the warmth of the live setting.

I saw The Killers live for the first time on the Day & Age Tour back in January, and what struck me the most about their concert was how much it felt like an experience! It was more than just a concert, or a collection of songs.

The Killers accomplished this same feat at The Royal Albert Hall

If you are a Killers fan, or if you're even just a fan of good rock n' roll music, this package is definitely for you. Don't hesitate to check it out!

5.0 out of 5 stars They're called the Killers for a reason, November 16, 2009
This review is from: Live from the Royal Albert Hall (Audio CD)
America has never fully embraced the Killers like the rest of the world. Being from the States, I can't really explain it. My hope is that Live from the Royal Albert Hall will change all of this.

I know alot of great things have already been posted about the DVD/CD, but I really don't think that you can overstate enough what a truly great performance the Killers give. The energy they have with each song is unheard of with most of today's bands. If Brandon sounds out of breath it's because he is running all over the stage singing his heart out.

If you stopped listening to the Killers after Hot Fuss, I strongly encourage you to get this. I think it will give you a great appreciation not only for Day and Age, but also Sam's Town. They perform 8 songs from Day and Age and 7 from Sam's Town. These guys are so much more than Mr. Brightside.

If you are a Victim, then you already own this and you have watched it 3 or 4 times already. You have also probably jumed up and down on your couch several times while screaming "I've got soul, but I'm not a soldier". I say good for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Live DVDs I've Purchased, November 11, 2009
This review is from: Live from the Royal Albert Hall (Audio CD)
This is a majestic performance from beginning to end, and The Killers prove themselves well-worthy of the beautiful Royal Albert Hall setting.

I saw the band live at T in the Park earlier in the year, and while some elements of the performance are similar (the set list is almost identical, and some of the songs are introduced in the same way), the overall "feel" of the Royal Albert Hall gig is more refined and intimate.

Highlights, for me, are the extended Day and Age Tour versions of "For Reasons Unknown" and "Bling" (both of which drop down and take a lull while Brandon Flowers encourages some crowd interaction, before picking back up and exploding into their utterly climactic conclusions); the surprise-packages of "I Can't Stay" and "Sweet Talk" (the former in particular is performed stunningly), and the one-two smackdown of "Mr Brightside" and "All These Things That I've Done"... "Spaceman" and "Dustland Fairytale" are a pretty powerful combination too. Generally speaking, all of the tracks sound far better live than they do recorded; there's more energy and clarity to them and Flowers' voice sounds tremendous when it isn't needlessly roboticized as it sometimes is in their albums.

The only song that I feel somewhat drags is "The World We Live In", but that's more to do with the fact that the studio version was never a favourite of mine anyway, not because it's a sub-par performance -- if you like the song, you'll like the live version more than I did.

The DVD begins and ends with new versions of "Enterlude" and "Exitlude", and features bonus performances, including one of my personal favourites "Tranquilize" from the Oxegen festival. In terms of bonus features it's a bit sparse; there's a nice little Behind The Scenes documentary which is worth watching, but that's really about it... The quality of the primary content renders this irrelevant anyway.

Speaking of quality, in terms of production and sound -- top notch. My only criticism - and it's a minor one - is that I'd like the crowd noise to have been brought into the foreground just a notch more for certain songs such as "Mr Brightside". Other than that, the balance is pretty much perfect.

To put it succinctly; buy this DVD, it's one of the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Killer DVD/CD Package, November 11, 2009
This review is from: Live from the Royal Albert Hall (Audio CD)
Just like all the other reviews have stated, this is a awesome live DVD/CD. I would say it's one of the best live music DVD's I've seen. The camera work adds a lot to the performance and doesn't detract from it at all.

One of the main things I like about the DVD is that it focuses equally on all the members which is great for me because I get to see great footage of Ronnie Vannucci who's not only an amazing drummer, but has great showmanship too.

If you are a Killers fan you shouldn't hesitate at all in getting this awesome DVD and CD package.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Killers kill it. Best concert DVD you can get, February 5, 2010

This review is from: Live from the Royal Albert Hall (Audio CD)
The Killers - Live From Royal Albert Hall is an excellent concert video, revealing The Killers as brilliant musicians, both individually and in ensemble. Ronnie Vannucci's drums beat at the center of this astounding group like the steady heart of a seasoned jazz musician: always alive, always responsive to the band, always in perfectly chosen tempo. Dave Keuning, on guitars, is lightyears beyond the generalized strumming of most rock chord-players, speaking to us articulately and beautifully with his nimble fingers. On Bass, Mark Stoermer is powerful and elegant, never missing a step, or beat, and is vigilantly alert to his fellow musicians, always nuanced.

The group inspires total confidence, which is in no small part due to the astonishing talent of Brandon Flowers, a singer whose grasp of vocal possibility, both technically and creatively, is far beyond his years. His pastiche of power, nuance, simplicity, refinement, flawless technique, and elegance place him solidly in the pantheon of great singers. Did I mention power? At 28, he has a command of his instrument, and an insight into it's mysteries, that most advanced artists do not begin to approach before they are in their 40's. And like all the greatest musicians, he is always listening: watch him listen to the band, to his audience. Simply put, he is a phenomenon: delivering unbroken passion in perfect balance with his skill. Never missing a note or moment of connection, his attention is always with his audience, with giving them the best, and ALL of it. And they are ready and willing to take him up on his offer.

The concert DVD / Blu-ray is first rate, mostly due to The Killers all-around brilliant talent as performers and composers, Flowers' lyrics always interesting, always impressionistic and captivating. The audience of fans delivers what has come to be expected by Killers followers: total enthrall and open-hearted excitment. Killers fans are always smiling. And as this concert proves, so are The Killers. Seldom, if ever, have I seen a band (or solo performer) project such open-hearted enjoyment, pure joy, at making music. Flowers and Vannucci never stop smiling, and neither do we. This DVD is simply brilliant.

5.0 out of 5 stars The score: Killers 1000, irony 0, November 23, 2009

The main word that comes to mind is "refreshing". While I'm not a victim, I have been a serious rock fan for 40 years. Was getting bored with the current scene of the last 10 years and bought this as a last-ditch effort to see what's up. Well kids, the game has been raised! How great is it to see a group of musicians enjoying themselves, enjoying the music, with NO wink-wink, clique-ish snobbery - just total comittment to the show. If you're losing your faith in Rock, visit the Albert Hall footage and REPENT!

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost as good as the real thing, November 12, 2009

Nothing, of course, can compare to actually going to a live show by The Killers, but this DVD comes close. I am amazed at the quality of the video and the quality of the sound. Watching the video had me jumping up and down and singing along just like at the real show. The different camera angles keep it interesting. I especially like the fact that there are close-ups of the drummer. In a typical show he's hidden away in the back of the stage behind the singer. But in the DVD, you can really see his work. The show includes the best songs from every album. Many of the songs are different versions from the album version which makes it very special. This is such a great deal in that you get a DVD and a live CD.

There is no other way to say it: The Killers Live at Royal Albert Hall is the best live performance DVD of the decade. Being the best American band this decade has produced the Killers prove once and for all they earned that coveted title. Playing in front of an excited and loyal british crowd in London makes the DVD all the more exciting. Brandon Flowers is in perfect voice and commands the stage in all his glory. Mark and Dave will astonish you with their playing and Ronnie is one of the most exciting drummers in the world to watch. They play all the songs you want to hear and is equally distributed from their three platnium albums. I cannot say enough for this DVD. It just floored me. 5 star rating, it is a must have for any rock fan. And what a low price! It is has both the DVD and the CD. A wonderful gift from this band. Thank you boys. You did your fans proud.

This is honestly the best music dvd I've ever seen. The Killers put on a moving, electrifying performance to a crowd that doesn't tire and is wildly responsive. The venue- The Royal Albert Hall in London- is beautiful too. The Killers give it everything they've got resulting in 2 hours of straight jamming. They have such musical force that you can't help but jam out in your room and sing the lyrics alongside the ever so charming, Brandon Flowers. Give yourself a treat- buy this dvd/cd compilation. One of the best bands from the '00 decade for sure! Brandon Flowers- you are genius and epic! To the KILLERS-> keep up the good work!!! You guys rock and are a cut above the rest!!!
