Reader Reviews:
  • "As a mother of 3 kids who also works and doesn't like to spend too much time cleaning and straightening, this book is genius! Seriously! I have purchased other decluttering books and I have been disappointed. I find the content in this book to be high quality, innovative, sustainable and realistic for families to implement and maintain."  -Kplaninz
  • "I love that this book is full of ideas that can be used immediately." -Rachael N.
  • "Each time I read one of Nate McHenry's books I think, "How nice it much be to live in his head!" He does a stellar job of keeping life simple, whether it's in regards to your home, creating special times with your children, or how you approach going on vacation! In Live Simple, he has taken what can feel like an overwhelming topic and broken it down into doable bite-sized pieces. Some suggestions are specific to having less/more organized stuff, and some offer the opportunity for a true life improvement."  -Mama Dee

5.0 out of 5 stars So I'm not the only one May 3, 2013

I can't say enough good about this book! It is as if the author walked through my house (the Trust Walk?) and commented on each room and each aspect of my material world that needed simplification. I appreciated the encouraging words along with the very practical ways of making changes.

While I truly loved every "step", I especially appreciated the new step (for me) of creating a Return Cart. It makes so much sense and can be placed away from the kitchen table so that, instead of shuffling things around to be able to sit down to dinner, I can keep my eating area sanctimonious and also have an easy way to deal with the many projects started every day.

This book is a great challenge for those people that just can't seem to get rid of items they haven't used for some time!! I love the donation box and the 4 cycle box ideas. Great suggestions to simplify organization in your home, car and garage.

As a person who struggles with clutter, this book is AWESOME!

It's actually a 31 day plan that comes complete with a calendar PDF to help you set your goals and mark your progress.

If you don't finish your home in 31 days, just repeat the process again.

The author not only provides 31 interesting ways to clear your house of clutter (crap),but he also gives you several realistic strategies to keep it clutter free, so your hard work is not waisted.

As a mother of 3 kids who also works and doesn't like to spend too much time cleaning and straightening, this book is genious!
Seriously!

The tasks are simple enough to not get overwhelmed yet highly effective.
As with anything, the key is to actually implement the steps.
That's why I particulary like the 31 day approach with the calendar.

I have purchased other decluttering books and I have been disapointed. I find the content in this book to be high quality, innovative, sustainable and realistic for families to implement and maintain.

The author even has strategies for involving your kids and teaches the foundations to living clutter free in addition to becoming clutter free.

I highly recommend this book for anybody serious in having a cleaner, clearer home.

Easy read and simple. Would have like a little more detail but the simplicity allows the reader to create the structure that is missing.

Not a lot of information; mostly just the kind of advice you would read in a magazine article about decluttering.
