Spinners Live,
By "zulu1" (Brooklyn, New York United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Live (Audio CD)
The single most reason to buy this album is to hear Phillipe Wynne impersonate Otis Redding and Al Greene on the cut "I've Got To Make It On My Own." I bought the release on a double vinyl album almost 25 years ago (you remember albums...those thin wide black wax frisbees with the tiny hole in the middle) and it's become worn out from me playing it so much. "Love Don't Love Nobody" does a fadeout as the last cut on side 3 and I have to flip it over to finish hearing it. I'm gonna buy the CD to hear them sing "Sady" and to listen to Phillipe improvise without all the pops and scratches. The band is tight, the sound is rich, the harmony is smooth and the selected cuts are strong. Besides this being their only released live recordings it's also one of their best albums. It's a definite must for any Spinners fan.

The best "The Spinners" have to offer !,

This review is from: Live (Audio CD)
If you like "The Spinners" this CD is a must. The CD includes great hits like "Sadie", "Love Don't Love Nobody", and "The Games That People Play". The Spinners at the time of this album, were one of the premier singing groups in concert and this CD shows why.
