running a close second,

i must admit, i'd probably never have heard the ziggens if it hadn't been for brad nowell's slightly tipsy (but wonderful, nonetheless) acoustic rendition of susanka's "big salty tears" on the sublime acoustic album. i am a consummate sublime freak, i love them more than any other band on EARTH; however, the ziggens run a very close second, & that's saying a LOT. the ziggens deftly combine many genres of music to come up w/something unique & amazing. if nothing else, pick up their new one, "Live: Tickets Still Available." got it myself a few days ago & it's been on constant rotation in my CD player ever since. a musical masterpiece that also showcases a bit of the ziggens' onstage sense of humor. let's face it, i love sublime, but they can't make any new albums, can they? they'll always be 1st to me, but the ziggens are starry second.

A Good One To Get Into Them,

This is a good CD to pick up if you have not heard the Ziggens before. I can not figure out why they have not blown up yet, but part of the fun with them is that they can poke fun at that. They have such a strong following while still remaining short of being superstars. To quote the album "How do you get the bass player off your porch?....Pay for the pizza!" Even the title "Tickets Still Available" pokes fun at this.
The Ziggens are confident in their music and so am I. They lyrics range from hilarious, crazy, and deep. It takes a really talented band to make a live album that sounds this good... plus they influenced Sublime!

This album is pretty damn good. If you like bands like Sublime, Filibuster, LBDA, Slightly Stoopid you'll most likely love this album.

This is one finely crafted piece of work. Goin' Richter is certainly one of the greatest musical works ever recorded. From mountainous peaks to serene valleys, this CD is an aural roller coaster.
