Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com

Picture this: Some guy decides to have his bachelor party at a bowling alley. He gets the crazy idea of inviting the Mono Men to play and, to make things even more interesting, hires a topless dancer named Tammy "Boom Boom" Mercedes to "grind" while the band is playing. The whole thing gets recorded for posterity and, presto, you get a smokin' live album as raw and real as any you'll ever hear. The end. --Adem Tepedelen

4.0 out of 5 stars garage rock majesty, April 17, 2002

this cd, while short at 28 minutes, is worth picking up for any fans of old-school rock & roll. the performance is excellent, the songs solid, and the recording is surprisingly good. there is also very little talking, which is something that ruins many live albums. for trashy, loud 50's style punk, you can't do better.

5.0 out of 5 stars rock'n'nroll for real men, September 21, 2006

This album is a hilarious, live snapshot of what a bawdy bachelor party should be. The Mono Men are as solid a garage/punk/rock band as you'll ever hear, and for a live performance, they nail it. The band photo on the back speaks volumes about how these are your average guys who one might mistake as plumbers instead of the stage destroyers they really are. For chrissakes, if you can't appreciate this album, you ought to consider the old age home. Seriously.

1.0 out of 5 stars It sucks. Stay away., April 16, 2004

I thought I was hip when I picked this up in a well-hidden place in a well-hidden record store. Wow! One of those not-very-heard-about Seattle bands.

Well, you see, they're not heard about for very good reason: They are crap. The riffs all sound the same. And the singer cannot sing. I hate this album.

It is a waste of $5.
