5.0 out of 5 stars Turn down the Lights; Sip some coffee and enjoy!!!
Jeremy Camp has always been one of my favorite artists from the first time I heard him live on the "Stay" tour. I was hooked by his deep voice, tight music and deeply introspective songwriting. I have followed his career fondly and was intrigued by the prospects of him releasing a live album, I was even more curious when I learned that it was going to be a unplugged set...

3.0 out of 5 stars Very touching
I enjoyed this album. I liked the mellow focused mood. It is a great worship cd. I would have loved to have been there for the recording.

5.0 out of 5 stars Turn down the Lights; Sip some coffee and enjoy!!!, November 9, 2005

Jeremy Camp has always been one of my favorite artists from the first time I heard him live on the "Stay" tour. I was hooked by his deep voice, tight music and deeply introspective songwriting. I have followed his career fondly and was intrigued by the prospects of him releasing a live album, I was even more curious when I learned that it was going to be a unplugged set.

This album did not dissapoint. many artists have tried the unplugged route, and most have failed but Mr. Camps style and voice are perfectly suited for this format, plus he has a top notch band performing behind him, including his brother and his wife. Camp hits on all his, well, hits. "Right Here is so sublime when done unplugged and I love the piano solo added to the song.
"Walk By Faith" with the strings in the background just demands lower lights and a cup of coffee. I swear that "Take you Back", "My Desire and "Beautiful Man" were written for just this album.

If you want to relax, unwind, reflect and just feel good get this Album, and that doesnt even hint of the included DVD which is "AWSOME" filmed in a intimate inviroment we get to hear the great music plus enjoy getting to know Jeremy Camp in a real way as he shares the success and the tragedies of his life . Just the fact that he can still sing and belive in a song "Walk By Faith" after losing his first wife to cancer 4 mounths into their marriage is a testemant to this young musician and God. A must have for any CCM fan

5.0 out of 5 stars Some of Camp's Best , With Bonus DVD Insights..., June 8, 2006
This review is from: Live Unplugged (W/Dvd) (Audio CD)
Camp's voice has a hint of rich masculine edge that's modern and youthful, yet the songs are slow, which should please adult contemporary/ballad fans. The CD takes 3 or so of the best songs from each of Camp's CDs and performs them unplugged (piano, guitars, drums, strings) and live, in a setting that the accompanying DVD shows is one of candlelit intimacy, with Camp sharing personal testimony that makes clear what I always wondered about: how can such a young guy sing about God's faithfulness in trials with such matured-by-life authenticity? Camp explains (on the DVD not CD) that some of his songs were birthed out of the pain of his first wife's unexpected death early in their marriage. My favorite, "I Still Believe" is an expression of Job-like faith (thank you Jeremy Camp--it ministered to me during what turned out to be a temporary blindness: "Even when I cannot see I still believe!") Also great is "Empty Me," a toughly tender song about surrendering oneself to God's refining fire.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Very,Very Best!!!!, February 28, 2006
This review is from: Live Unplugged (W/Dvd) (Audio CD)
This is the ultimate of all Christian singers in my mind.I just recently bought this cd and dvd and was over whelmed by Jeremy. He is down to earth with a sweetness and innocence about him that anyone will be able to see it. His voice is astonishing and full of God's love.He is definately blessed and expresses it through his music, lyrics and voice.A very talented artist. If I could rate this cd with a million stars and beyond I would gradly do so.Jeremy exibits an awesome love for the Lord and it shows in everything he does.I recommend this cd to everyone.Jeremy explains through his songs who God is,God's love and forgiveness and how you can't live without Him ever. This cd most assuredly allows you to feel God's presence.Jeremy's voice will bring tears to your eyes along with his music.Give it a try. It's worth the money and then some!My pick of the century. This music collection is a bit different than Jeremys usual style of Christian rock and is a laid back, accoustic version. He shows his true self in the dvd part. You will love this I guarentee it! CD and DVD combo WHAT A DEAL!!! I recommend this for everyone of all ages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ministers to my heart, July 3, 2006
By
This review is from: Live Unplugged (W/Dvd) (Audio CD)
Let me preface this review by saying that I felt for some time that Jeremy Camp was losing his edge, and that his first CD, Stay, was as good as it would get for Jeremy. He released Carried Me, a worship CD, on which some of the songs are remakes of other artists' work, and one song is even carried over from Stay! Then came Restored, which to me sounded a lot like Stay, but without some of the edginess. I hesitated to buy this acoustic compilation of songs from his past 3 releases.

However, new renditions of faster songs "Understand" and "Stay" among others made this CD worth purchasing. Much of the music is slow and stripped down, but still elaborate and pleasing to the ear. The slower tempo brings greater emphasis to lyrics that are, in my opinion, second-to-none (except perhaps Todd Agnew) in quality and genuineness. The concert on CD plays really well from start to finish. Song selection and order were well done.

The DVD component of this release is one that I figured I might watch once and then let sit on my shelf. However, the camera work during the concert is magnificent! Furthermore, Jeremy intimately shares from personal experience with his audience between songs, and those words really ministered to my heart. His life is one that you will hear about and be encouraged. You also get to see Jeremy's sense of humour come through in some of what he shares. Finally, be sure to check out the music video for "Take You Back." I never really cared for this song when I heard it on his Restored CD, but watching the video for the song (which shows a modern telling of the Prodigal Son story) touched my heart and brought me to tears.

This CD/DVD release comes highly recommended for Jeremy Camp fans, and for anyone who enjoys good music and being encouraged by the testimonies of other Christians.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is a must have for Jeremy Camp fans, January 2, 2006
This review is from: Live Unplugged (W/Dvd) (Audio CD)
I originally bought this CD because I thought it would be like the Jeremy Camp concert I went to shortly before the release of 'Restored', but I was surprised to find out that it wasn't. It was better!!! The faster songs on this disc('Stay', 'Understand') are slowed way down and the electric guitars are replaced with acoustics. When I first heard 'Understand' I knew I had to have this CD. This is one of my favorites. I wouldn't be shocked if he gets a Dove Award nomination for this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Jeremy Camp is the BEST, December 12, 2005
This review is from: Live Unplugged (W/Dvd) (Audio CD)
I have all of Jeremy Camps cd's. I love them all and up to this point "stay" was my favorite. The "unplugged" CD has been in my CD player and has not stopped playing. The DVD was an AWESOME extra. It was touching to hear about his wife Melissa who was gone to be with the Lord and How his wife now Adrian joined in. She has a beautiful voice. If you have not heard any of his music I would BUY this one FIRST!! A MUST have for very Christian music lover.

5.0 out of 5 stars Need More Albums Like This, November 19, 2008
This review is from: Live Unplugged (W/Dvd) (Audio CD)
I'd never been a fan of Jeremy Camp until I picked up this album. This is the basis of what I know of his background: his first wife died of cancer, and he is now remarried. With this in mind, Camp knows about heartache and having your faith in a loving God tested.

This is evident in songs such as "Walk by Faith," when he says "I will walk by faith/even when I cannot see." In "I Still Believe," Camp realizes that God is the only one he can turn to in trials: "Well the only place that I can go/is into your arms/where I throw to you my feeble prayers." There is a catchy worship song in the form of "Beautiful One." "My Desire" features a great piano-based melody. His biggest hit "This Man" tops off the album.

If you're a fan of acoustic music, this album will appeal to you. Camp's wife sings backup vocals, and the cozy nature of the live audience gives it a simple sound. I thoroughly enjoyed this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing even to the ears of an 18 year old who usually listens to punk music., January 10, 2008
This review is from: Live Unplugged (W/Dvd) (Audio CD)
Jeremy Camp's unplugged album is one of my very favorite cd's that I own, and that is really saying something, because about 90% of my cd collection is punk music. I want to share a little testimony story on here if that's cool with you. (Don't worry, it has to do with the CD.)

So I grew up in a Christian household and always heard of Jesus every day at home and in school. It went in one ear and out the other. It was like, "blah blah blah Jesus blah blah blah." As I went thru high school I never took my Savior very seriously and well.....my heart just wasn't in the right place. Then in the winter of Senior year I went thru a huge change of heart and Jesus became the most important thing in my life. This album played a huge role in that. My dad got it for Christmas and I gave it a couple listens and adopted it as my own. (Don't worry, Dad was cool with it.) I loved being able to relate to the lyrics and come closer to my Savior. He really reintroduced Himself to me thru this album. Today I am in college preparing for the teaching ministry and I will be spending the rest of my life teaching high school age kids about Jesus as they go thru their teenage politics. <--haha mxpx...never mind.

Anyways, ON TO MY REVIEW OF THIS ALBUM!!!!!

Allright, this album is a little on the longer side, a little less than an hour...something like that. It is a bunch of Jeremy Camp's
singles, including his very best songs, (Take You Back, Walk By Faith, My Desire.) The songs go over a variety of lyrical topics, so it won't get redundant at all. For example, one of my favorites, "My Desire" is all about wanting to be used to do God's will. It is extremely easy to relate to, and you can listen to it as a prayer to God, saying to Him, "Here I am, send me." Walk By Faith is about knowing everything will be just fine, because it's all God's plan for you, and you just know in your heart that He knows what is best for you. I could go on for a long time, but I won't.

To accompany these honest and heartfelt lyrics, this album offers very laid back acoustic guitars and piano and light percussion. It's the perfect album to just chill and listen to. So when you feel the need to just refresh your mind and have some alone time with your Savior, definately pick up this album.

Allright, I'm done. I hope you check this album out, because it's worth a listen. I hope it effects your life like it did mine.

God bless!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!!, September 20, 2006
This review is from: Live Unplugged (W/Dvd) (Audio CD)
This is a brilliant CD....The songs are naked and quiet. It's a true worship CD and one for the quiet time with God. The song "Beautiful One" is written by Tim Hughes from Watford, England and it's sung slightly different to the way he does it...but awesome none the less. The DVD is really great too and when watching it I felt like I was in the audience. Highly recommended! A+
