4.0 out of 5 stars a fun concert, April 27, 2004
This review is from: Live [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is far from being a "great" concert, but it's entertaining, and some of the numbers are really good, especially the more uptempo songs, like Billy Ray's cover of Lee Hazlewood's "These Boots are Made for Walking", and the funky "I'm so Miserable" (with the clever line of "I'm so miserable without you it's almost like you're here"), and the bluesy "Ain't No Good Goodby", and of course, the concert wouldn't be complete without "Achy Breaky Heart", a song that is so bad it's got its own special charm.
Billy Ray's back-up band Sly Dog is a lot of what holds this concert together:
Terry Shelton, electric guitar / Barton Stevens, keyboards / Greg Fletcher, drums / Corky Holbrook, bass / Michael J. Sagraves, acoustic, electric, steel guitars.
Filmed in 1992 at The Ritz in New York, it bogs down in some of the ballads, but Billy Ray fans will enjoy it, and think it deserves a 4 star rating, and everyone else will think it's a 3 star deal.

Most of the songs have been written by Billy Ray, and they are:
1: "Should I stay or Should I Go"
2: "These Boots are Made for Walking"
3: "She's Not Crying Anymore"
4: "Wher'm I Gonna Live ?"
5: "Someday, Somewhere, Somehow"
6: "Could've Been Me"
7: "I'm So Miserable"
8: "Never Thought I'd Fall in Love with You"
9: "Ain't No Good Goodbye"
10: "Some Gave All"
11: "Only Time Will Tell"
12: "It Won't be the Last"
13: "Achy Breaky Heart"
14: "The Star Spangled Banner" is sung acappella over the titles.
Total running time is 1 hour.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best Pete Townshend solo concert available on video, August 24, 2009

This review is from: Deep End [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is truly a phenomenal effort. Pete is at his best, the band is stellar, and guest lead guitarist David Gilmour is outstanding.

Band standouts include harmonica player Peter Hope-Evans, drummer Simon Phillips, and trumpeter Roddy Lorimer.

The video and audio quality is outstanding for a VHS tape.

I would really like to see this performance released on DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-see for all Pete Townshend/Who fans!!, June 25, 1999
By A Customer
Don't miss this one!! Pete (et al) performs his "Psychoderelict" concept piece, live, along with lots of other Who and solo material. It's clear this aging rocker still has what it takes. A true Hall-of-famer!!

This review is from: Live [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I think billy ray cyrus never gets the recognition he deserves as an artist and way before he was known as mileys dad this concert was filmed and it shows what a great singer he is . I would like to see him release a new concert since he now has 14 albums of material to choose from.
