4.0 out of 5 stars Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Acoustic Duo - Not DMB
Although Amazon lists this as a Dave Matthews Band album, it is actually Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds performing as an acoustic duo. If you came here looking for a DMB live album with the current band lineup, go check out Europe 2009 Dave Matthews Band - Europe 2009 (3 CDs & 1 DVD) .

This is Dave and Tim's third album as a duo - all three are 2 CD live...

3.0 out of 5 stars not as good as "big whiskey & the groogrux king," but...
Well, it's good enough for me. Modern acoustic rock/jam band legend Dave Matthews reunites with an old Virginia friend Tim Reynolds and they released this live album from Las Vegas. It's pretty good. Love the songs "Grace Is Gone" and "Bartender." But there's just something missing. I don't know what it is, but my gut tells me there's something missing...

4.0 out of 5 stars Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Acoustic Duo - Not DMB, February 11, 2010
This review is from: Live in Las Vegas (Audio CD)
Although Amazon lists this as a Dave Matthews Band album, it is actually Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds performing as an acoustic duo. If you came here looking for a DMB live album with the current band lineup, go check out Europe 2009 Dave Matthews Band - Europe 2009 (3 CDs & 1 DVD) .

This is Dave and Tim's third album as a duo - all three are 2 CD live albums.

I'd say that this one is better than the last one (Live at Radio City), which sounded dull and lifeless to me. The first one (Live at Luther College) is in my opinion still the best of the three, but this is also very good. There's all kinds of interesting stuff here, including some tunes from Dave's solo album, a wild run through Led Zeppelin's Kashmir, a Tim Reynolds solo guitar piece, and a tune or two that I haven't heard anywhere elese. There are a few tunes that are repeated from the earlier albums, but this is a 2 CD set at the price of a single CD, so who's gonna complain? Nice job, guys...

Wow!! This new live album from Dave and Tim is breathtaking. The mix is STUNNING and the performances are so on point. I very highly recommend picking this up. It's already become one of my favorite D&T releases in any capacity. It's incredible! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great live album with new material!, March 26, 2010
This review is from: Live in Las Vegas (Audio CD)
I loved this album. They incorporated stuff from Big Whisky and it is always good to hear new stuff live. There are a lot of songs (26 I think) and everyone is great! If you have been following Dave for years, you'll probably have several of these songs multiple times in different live albums. But each performance was live. As for the review that said they were really quit (the 1 * review) I don't know what he is talking about.

I bought this item shortly before Christmas, used the standard shipping, and it arrived on Christmas Eve! What great timing! The CD is in great quality too. Overall, it was a great purchase and I had no problems what so ever with the product.

Another nice addition to the Dave and Tim acoustic collection. Such an enjoyable CD. I wish they release a DVD of this concert.

If you like the Dave/Tim cd's, you'll like this one also. It's really good, but not quite as good as Radio City Music Hall.

I love DMB and this is my favorite Dave and Tim album. I've had it in my CD player in my car for like 10 months now and I don't know if I'll ever get sick of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars 1ST TIME ACOUSTIC RECORDINGS FROM GRUX KING...EXCELLENT, October 22, 2010
This review is from: Live in Las Vegas (Audio CD)
Highlights in this disc unexpectedly lay in DMB's newer songs, which I have to say I now prefer acoustic over any studio or (dare I say) live version. "Squirm" gave me chills while "Alligator Pie" sounded like the blues song it is when toned down by Dave and Tim. "Lying in the Hands of God" also sounded much more like a love song when stripped down.

After "Grace is Gone" when Dave stated "I'm a little out of my mind tonight, so I apologize," him and Tim did an excellent version of "an itty bitty song" called "Loving Wings." This song as of now is only present on Live at the Gorge and Live Trax Volume 2, so this was indeed a treat. Before he begins, Dave says "cause love can feel like it saves your life...you can feel it, like water."

5.0 out of 5 stars Thought nothing would compare to Live at Luther...then I got this!!, October 13, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Dave and Tim do it again! The guitar work on this album is phenomenal. Tim burns up the strings especially on favorites like Dancing Nancies, Funny the Way It Is and Typical Situation. The emotion in Dave's voice in Grace is Gone nearly makes me cry and Some Devil, So Damn Lucky, and Grey Street are rarities that stole my heart the first time I heard them. This CD literally makes me want to jump on a plane to see them live in Vegas this December. If this were the kind of show I'd see, it would be well worth the trip.
