5.0 out of 5 stars great post-bop piano trio album, August 24, 2004

If you like your piano trio jazz played with aggression, imagination and lyricism, then by all means do whatever is necessary to get your hands on a copy of this album. Junko's command of the piano is complete, and she and her sidemen, bassist Reginald Veal and drummer Herlin Riley, do a bang up job on tunes ranging from Irving Berlin's old warhorse "Blue Skies" to Mingus' "So Long Eric." A definite must for any jazz collection.

First Shié Ayado now Junko Onishi - the sky is truly the limit to these talented japanese female musicians. Yes, jazz is undeniably the real thing when they sing or play it.
