This is one of my favorite live recordings of all time. It's spontaneous and the sheer pleasure that went in the making is present in every song. All the goodies are here, including Spanish Stroll, Demasiado Corazon, Hey Joe, Lilly's Daddy's Cadillac, Bamboo Road and a very special, emotional rendition of Heaven Stood Still, with just Willy's voice and a violin. If there's only one album by Willy DeVille you should like to have, it should be this one. But if you like this... you want to have the rest!

I've been a DeVille fan since he first broke in the late 70s and have seen him countless times in NYC -- including the date that this album is recorded at. At first, I wasn't really taken with the idea of a live album of his, because its release seemed like a throw-away, "let's just get this out there" kind of effort. I knew it was out for a long time, but the preceeding review prompted me to order it and check it out. Simply put, I was totally blown away by this thing. Only in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that a live recording would capture Willy's gut-wrenching vocals and both the subtle nuance and raw power of the band. I saw these shows and they were incredible experiences. The CD captures it all -- perfectly. Great performances, very good sound quality. It ranks up there with his very best studio albums and is, quite possibly, his finest release ever. This thing kicks like you couldn't imagine and even if you're not a big fan of Willy's, check it out if you like ballsy deliveries and a Grade-A band. Simply fabulous.

I've been a fan of Willy Deville since 1977. I saw him and his band perform live in Boston, MA in 1981, 1987, 1990, 1994, and New York City in 1999. Truly a great artist and every song he performs is a work of art that he puts his heart & soul into. Buy every release you can find by this Blues great... He will be missed...

Live is a great live album from a tremendous artist and showman. Willy Deville has amazing vocal skills and listening to this album is as if one was there at the show. The booklet is quite nice, with well-shot photographs, all the lyrics and a listing of whom plays on this live show. The album was not released in the USA but managed to reach number one in Spain. 4/5.

Willy Deville always gives it is all...and this CD is no exception.Every song is pure enjoyment.My favorite song is Heaven Stood Still,his voice is simply mesmerizing.I am slowly working my way down the list of his CD's and plan to buy them all,Willy never dissapoints.The man is sheer genus in his songwriting......
