It was a good book.,

This review is from: I Live in Your Basement! (Goosebumps, No 61) (Paperback)
The book is about a boy(MARCO) who's mother is paranoid. She warns him about everything, for example: don't play softball because you might break a bone. So he sneaks out to play softball, and his friend Gwynnie was practicing her swing and he got knocked in the head. So he went to school and his teacher asked him about his stay in the hospital. Marco couldn't remember the visit. He had a phone call from a kid named Keith, that said that he lives in Marco's basement. After these incidents it was all a dream. But Keith really did live in his basement. Then in the end it was another dream and Keith was really Marco and an alien.

I AGREE THAT I LIVE IN YOUR BASEMENT IS A LITTLE CONFUSING BUT IF YOU STICK WITH IT YOU'LL LIKE IT. IT'S ABOUT A KID NAMED MARCO WHOSE MOTHER IS A SAFETY FREAK. HE CAN'T EVEN SHARPEN PENCILS! ONE DAY HE SNEAKS OUT TO A SOFTBALL GAME AND GETS HIT IN THE HEAD WITH A BAT. HE WAKES UP ON HIS COUCH AND GETS A CALL FROM A KID NAMED KEITH WHO SAYS HE LIVES IN MARCO'S BASEMENT. STARTLING EVENTS COME UNTIL MARCO WAKES UP IN A HOSPITAL. HE THINKS HE'S AWAKE BUT ACTUALLY WAKES UP AGAIN. WHEN HE GOES HOME HE FINDS KEITH IN HIS ROOM. KEITH IS REAL AND CAN CONTROL MARCO'S DREAMS. THEY GET INTO A FIGHT WHERE IT LOOKS LIKE THE END FOR MARCO! THEN KEITH WAKES UP. IT TURNS OUT KEITH IS A MONSTER AND WENT OUT TO PLAY SOFTBALL AND GOT HIT IN THE HEAD. HE LIVES IN MARCO'S BASEMENT WITH HIS MOM AND LOOKS LIKE AN INSIDE OUT PERSON. HE CAN LOOK LIKE US IF HE WANTS SO HE CAN WALK AROUND WITH US. MARCO THEN DISCOVERS THEM IN HIS BASEMENT. THE STORY THEN ENDS ON A JOKE. I GAVE IT 5 OUT OF 5 BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS GOOD. JUST STICK WITH IT AND I KNOW YOU'LL LIKE IT. I DID.

This review is from: I Live in Your Basement! (Goosebumps, No 61) (Paperback)
R.L Stine has made this all too confusing. The script is so confusing. I couldn't understand it. R.L Stine has also ran out of ideas. You want to know why? His second book, Stay out of the basement, is way scarier, better script, and way better. This is confusing, bad script and a nearly exact copy. Marco, can't believe whats happening. His getting distracted and confused. Just like us. He is suffering disturbing and odd happenings, and his mum, who is a safety freak, doesn't believe him. Too bad. Too bad because the person or other who is disturbing Marco, has given the last of his warnings...
Marco's mum, wont let Marco do anything, even if it isn't dangerous. So an angry Marco sneaks out to meet his friends in a softball or baseball match. Marco feels the thud of the baseball bat hitting him in the head. He wakes up. Startled, he heres the phone ring. Answers it and heres another person on the end of the phone. A guy called Keith. And geuss what Keith says... "I live in your basement, Marco." Confused and in disaray, he tells his less than convinced mum. His mum doesn't believe him. Marco, with the bandage wrapped around his head, complains. But then a peculiar thing happens. His mum says they don't have a phone, in the room where he answered Keith's strange and peculiar call. Confusing as it gets, later on is more the same. This deserves a one star.

Psychological Thriller- A rare gem in the series!,
This review is from: I Live in Your Basement! (Goosebumps, No 61) (Paperback)
Read the other reviews if you want to know the plot. This penultimate book in the series is wonderfully unique in that it explores a new style for R.L. Stine. It honestly felt as if I were reading an adult psychological thriller some of the time because the theme is very dark and geared for an older audience. It is one of the more unforgiving books in that the main character is constantly in a state of mind torture (i.e. forgetting he has a sister, being stalked by a boy/monster named Keith, watching people regurgitate their own insides) and can not seem to escape. Worst of all, he deals with this torture alone. Without giving anything away, the twist at the end leaves a bit of plot hole, but does give a sense of relief from the overall dark theme of the book. There is even a slight twinge of humor at the very end. If you are looking for a different book that plays with your mind, this one is highly recommended.

Marco's mother is very afraid he'll get injured, so she won't let him do anything. When he sneaks out to play softball he's hit in the head and passes out. Lying in his room recuperating, he receives a call. It's a boy who calls himself Keith. Keith says he lives in Marco's basement and that Marco must take care of him.
Messages from Keith keep coming and then Marco sees him. Nice story, swell ending.

Too confusing, it didnt even make sense...please don't read this book...pick another Goosebumps to read!...believe me!I think Stine might have ran out of ideas and had to kinda copy the idea of Goosebumps book #2, Stay Out Of The Basement...although that book was alot better!! Devin

Better than I thought,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: I Live in Your Basement! (Goosebumps, No 61) (Paperback)
I can see why this book only got a three star rating because it was confusing, but if you just pay attention to the book it will make sense. This book is about a boy named marco and his mom doesn't wan't him to play sports because she's afraid he'll get hurt. One day he sneaks out and plays softball and gets hurt. He then gets a call from a boy named Keith who says he lives in Marco's basement. I would say this book is one of the most unique books in the goosebumps series. This book in my opinion is still worth reading.

Ages 15-17 \ VERY PARANORMAL,
By Cassius "Blake" (Mobile, AL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Live in Your Basement! (Goosebumps, No 61) (Paperback)
This is one of the few Goosebump Books that is geared at a older audience. It's more of one of those paranormal books. It reminded me of the movie "Stir Of Echoes", with a plot-setting confusion mode that people get into when they don't know the difference of real and make-believe. In my opinion, it's a great book, but I could easily see why someone wouldn't like it. It's slightly confusing, but reading it slow and catching every detail makes this book in the top 3 books every written by R.L. Stine. It's really great. Buy it!
