5.0 out of 5 stars Underappreciated, yet again!!
Once again, Belinda did not get the recognition she deserved with this album. I believe MCA records was to blame for that. She obviously was not as promoted as other artists. Too bad, this album is flawless. Her voice is just spectacular. The only single released here (the US) was "Do You Feel Like I Feel?", and it was all but ignored by radio. The song...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not her best work
Live Your Life Be Free is fifty-one minutes and eleven seconds long and was released on October 14, 1991. Live Your Life Be Free is Belinda Carlisle first failure. The cassette did not chart and only one song of the five singles charted. Songs like I Plead Insanity and Little Black Book are not that great. Then again I did like Half the World and Love Revolution. It is...

The song only managed to reach #75 on billboards top 100 chart. Overseas (where they appreciate better music), the album did very well, as did the song. Other hit singles released off of this album were: Live Your Life Be Free, Half The World, I Plead Insanity, Little Black Book.
All great songs, but the one's to check out on this album, are: You Came Out Of Nowhere, You're Nothing Without Me, Love Revolution. Definitely worth your time and money.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Belinda of all, February 19, 2004

I know having written this in 2004 it seems unfair to call this the best Belinda of all, but that is just what it is. She brought a maturity and an adult feel to the songs that she lacked with her first 3 solo albums. All the songs here contain what i call the Belinda Carlisle Chorus: The backup singers that explode on the chorus of the songs. I Plead Insanity is by far the best song that Belinda has ever done. Its catchy..has the vocals..and the dance feel behind it, and I am sure if it had been released that this album would have gone MUCH farther than it did. If you like Belinda you will LOVE this album, if you can find it now.

This is an incredible album. "Do You Feel Like I Feel?" is one the best pop songs I have ever encountered. The album is wonderful. This should have been a huge hit in America and if it had received any airplay it would have charted. Other gems are "Live Your Life Be Free," "I Plead Insanity," "You Came Out of Nowhere," "Your'e Nothing Without Me."

4.0 out of 5 stars Live Your Life..Be Free, July 31, 2009
This review is from: Live Your Life Be Free (Audio CD)
This 1991 effort was largely ignored in the U.S for inexplicable reasons. Belinda announced she was pregnant and cancelled tours for this album. She did however make appearances on American TV talk shows such as Letterman and Arsenio Hall. The record is decidely more dance oriented than past albums. Her vocals are rich and tightly wrapped in an impressive wall of music. The anthemic "Live Your Life Be Free" is often used to open current concerts. What a great message!! "Do You Feel Like I Feel?" was another single from this CD. The most underrated single from this CD is the ballad "Half The World". Belinda's vioce is well suited for this dreamy song. This is a great record that should also be picked up by dance clubs. As recently as December 2008 I heard a remixed "Live Your Life Be Free" in a Chicago dance club.

5.0 out of 5 stars This album is her best!, January 17, 2005
This review is from: Live Your Life Be Free (Audio CD)
This album is nothing short of amazing. I rarely like a cd as a wholw but this was it for me. Every song is perfection and that is really hard to come by this day in age. I especially liked the songs, I Plead Insanity, Little Black Book, Love Revolution, and Do You Feel Like I Feel. Very Highly Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars 2 good songs, December 17, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Live Your Life Be Free (Audio CD)
I was hoping for a lot from this artist because the "Heaven on Earth" single was so good. I bought 4 or 5 of her CDs and find them disappointing. They are "OK" but not great. The lyrics aren't real "deep". Alright for background music as you are driving but not much "meat". This is the best of the bunch however and that includes the "Heaven on Earth" CD. Live your Life Be Free and Half The World are excellent tunes in my opinion. The problem is that it's just my opinion and of not much use to whoever may read this. Got to make up your own mind. I got the CDs for pennies (plus $3.50 shipping) each from the Amazon Marketplace used CD sellers so my investment wasn't serious. No way in this world I'd pay full price for THESE. I'm a 50 yr. old male pop music fan so mix that in with the above opinion.
