4.0 out of 5 stars Numa Numa Hey
T.I. scored his second #1 single of his career with this hot new song. "Live Your Life" gets its hook from an unusual source - the hit single "Dragostea din tei" by Moldovan pop group O-Zone. You've probably never heard of O-Zone, but you've heard this song. It's also sometimes known as the "Numa Numa Song" and was featured in that internet video with the rather rotund...

3.0 out of 5 stars WHAT?!? A Rap Song With A Positive Message, Not Done By Will Smith?
When I first listened to this song, I was totally shocked and perplexed. Not only was Rihannna doing a decent rendition of 'Numa Numa,' but T.I. starts off the song with the line of "be thankful for what you got." WHAT?!? He's not wanting more money, more girls, more bling and more hollering? Nope, he's telling people to be thankful for what they got, and criticizing...

4.0 out of 5 stars Numa Numa Hey, October 26, 2008

T.I. scored his second #1 single of his career with this hot new song. "Live Your Life" gets its hook from an unusual source - the hit single "Dragostea din tei" by Moldovan pop group O-Zone. You've probably never heard of O-Zone, but you've heard this song. It's also sometimes known as the "Numa Numa Song" and was featured in that internet video with the rather rotund European kid singing the lyrics - Mai-ia-hii/ Mai-ia-huu/ Mai-ia-ha/ Mai-ia-haha. Ah, now you probably remember it.

It's a bizarre sample for a rap single, but T.I. and producer Just Blaze are talented enough to blend it seamlessly into the song without making it seem like too much of a novelty. Of course, another savvy decision was to have diva-of-the-moment Rihanna sing the numa numa opening and then incorporate the same rhythm later in the song; she seems to have the midas touch lately. Every element just really works together in this song that promises to be around until well after the winter holidays.

4.0 out of 5 stars Living the Positive Life, January 12, 2009
By
This review is from: Live Your Life [Featuring Rihanna] (MP3 Download)
"Life your life (feat. Rihanna)" is TI's surprisingly fun rap song. Most hip-hop has a negative message. This song, however, is about living life to the fullest and being grateful. It's not about scoring hot chicks, having boatloads of bling, or knocking off one's enemies with one's posse. TI,who's currently serving house arrest, offers up a song that's hip, with it, and for the genre, excellent. "Live you life" has a Caribbean beat, thanks to Rihanna's smooth take on the infamous "Numa Numa" song. THAT'S daring! Who would've imagined the Caribbean diva yodeling the same tune as the plump Eastern European kid? "Live your life" has a rhythm,a beat,a positive message. Now go live yo life!

3.0 out of 5 stars WHAT?!? A Rap Song With A Positive Message, Not Done By Will Smith?, November 23, 2008
This review is from: Live Your Life [Featuring Rihanna] (MP3 Download)
When I first listened to this song, I was totally shocked and perplexed. Not only was Rihannna doing a decent rendition of 'Numa Numa,' but T.I. starts off the song with the line of "be thankful for what you got." WHAT?!? He's not wanting more money, more girls, more bling and more hollering? Nope, he's telling people to be thankful for what they got, and criticizing people who just keep wanting more and more. A positive message with strangely few cuss words, and a Rihanna isn't half-bad, it's a good rap song for Thanksgiving, but not much more beyond that. It might be just me, but it's not exactly something I'd want to hear every other song, a week from now. Its beat isn't that great, and makes the shelf-life here rather short. But for a mainstream rap song, it isn't half-bad.

5.0 out of 5 stars What the world needs now, February 24, 2009
This review is from: Live Your Life [Featuring Rihanna] (MP3 Download)
I've sworn off radio, so this was a genuine surprise when I heard it in the process of just listening to the album. Being a bit of a dork the "numa numa" chorus caught my attention and Just Blaze's production is fat and catchy and pushes the song over the edge. It survives multiple replays thanks to TI's rock solid verses that are positive but not outrageously optimistic.

This song has is great! I cannot stand T.I. most of the time- but this song had me wanting it without even knowing who sings it. Plus it does have a positive message which seems to be rare these days.

1.0 out of 5 stars T.I., April 19, 2011

Is a joke. This song is awful, just like the rest of his discography. Horrible mainstream poppy rap for braindead morons who listen to whatever the media tells them to listen to.

1.0 out of 5 stars T.I. Nobody cares about your ghetto life, January 29, 2009

It was almost a song with a positive message. Then T.I. started writing about his ghetto experiences.

Get with the main stream, nobody cares about "cats getting paid today", or how you "thought you paved some way". This is america in 2009, people pave their own way.

2.0 out of 5 stars Ugh, Rihanna, please go away for a while, November 27, 2008
This review is from: Live Your Life [Featuring Rihanna] (MP3 Download)
Does Rihanna need to release 38 singles a year? And do 37 of them really need to have some kind of 'aaa, aaaa, aaaaa' hook to them? Seriously, her songs sound like she's learning her phonics (ella ella ella aaaa aaaaa aaaaa) vs. actually singing.

This song sounds cobbled together from 2-3 individual songs from the beginning, and like most Rihanna songs, overproduced to hide her rather thin vocal abilities.

Message of the song is fine, but please get someone who isn't totally and completely overexposed and oversaturated to sing it next time.
