5.0 out of 5 stars Best is the Best!
Pete Best and his brother do a fine job banging out good old fashioned Rock and Roll. This C.D. is like hearing a good bar band with one of the most famous drummers in the world. A must have for any true Beatles fan.

3.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable CD, good selections, but not enough Pete!
Well done selections from the Cavern era, but if you are looking for Pete he's tough to find. First of all, he doesn't do any vocals, which is not a big deal. More importantly though, if you are looking forward to hearing the state of his chops behind the drums (as I was), that too is made difficult since his younger brother Roag doubles on drums. This dual...

4.0 out of 5 stars Relive the 60's, April 25, 2001

This is a "fun" album comprised of old 60's rock. The highlights are "Be My Baby" and "When you walk in the room" Nothing earth shattering or groundbreaking-but a good live album by a band that sounds like they're enjoying themselves. The interview with Pete Best is okay-but the interviewer-for whatever reason-avoids more meaningful questions. Pete Best is a help to me whenever things go wrong-ie missed promotions, lost opportunites-whatever--I think of Pete and realize it could always be worse!!! I'd recommend this cd to anyone who likes 60's rock&roll-not just Beatles fans. This is a much better cd than John Lennon's "Rock and Roll"

4.0 out of 5 stars Great live recordings by the Pete Best Band, January 1, 2012

I enjoyed this collection of live recordings by the Pete Best Band. It includes covers of hits from the 1950's and 1960's such as Spencer Davis Group's "Keep On Running," Percy Sledge's "When A Man Loves A Woman," the Ronettes' "Be My Baby," and some Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis tunes. This set also includes songs which had also been recorded by The Beatles such as "Rock And Roll Music," "Mr. Moonlight," "Slow Down," and "Some Other Guy" (from Live at the BBC). Pete actually used to sing the lead vocals on "Some Other Guy" when he was with The Beatles.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best of the rest of Best......................., May 21, 2007

If I were going to buy a Pete Best CD, this is the one I'd get....way over the others. It'll never make the charts...........but when they are gone...they're gone. Some of us old farts will take the cd and sing along in the car, so if you see our mouths moving and our heads shaking....some of the songs here are worth getting through traffic with.

This dual drumming obviously prevents an assessment of Pete's ability to drive a band on his own. The album is enjoyable, though, and if you're a Pete fan you gotta have it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Biggest Piece of Crap of the Century (so far), September 24, 2008

THE PETE WORST BAND -
This guy shouldn't have the right to be performing this kind of crap in the name of The Beatles. Remember, he was fired because he was a bad drummer, and now: He's a band leader. Pete, go find a job in a bank or in a grocery store and forget about the music. That's not your thing. The cd sucks big time. The drummer doesn't play well, the singer is awfull and the rest of the band(?)sound like a bunch of amateurs. People, stay away from this horrible thing called The Pete Best Band. At least if they renamed the group The Pete Worst Band, it would sound more honest.
