5.0 out of 5 stars Houserockin' BLUES!, February 9, 2004

Recently deceased Cub Koda takes over slide-guitar and vocal duties for the late Houndog Taylor with HT's original band, the Houserockers, in a funky little club that Taylor would've undoubtedly played if it had been around in his lifetime: 'B.L.U.E.S.', 2519 N. Halsted, Chicago There's not much blues like this still in the world; if you want what's left, check out "Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials", on the same label that recorded Houndog's original albums, Alligator Records.

Cub Koda & The Houserockers live!!! Low down, hard core, in-your-face Chicago blues played in a Chicago club backed by Hound Dog Taylor's old band. Seems to have more "fire" than their other live album, "The Joint Was Rockin," which was recorded 14 months later. Drummer Ted Harvey is blowing his police whistle by the third song, which is his way of saying they're REALLY rockin' and hittin' the groove. Plus guests, including Eddie Clearwater.
