2009 collection of BBC Sessions from Guy Chadwick and his House Of Love, recorded during the band's commercial peak in the early '90s. It was 20 years ago that the band shot to #1 in the indie charts with their debut single, 'Shine On'. Their debut album went to #1 a month later. NME and Melody Maker front covers soon followed, as did a further 10 hit singles. This single CD is essentially the best of the band live, as recorded and broadcast by the BBC. Includes storming, previously unreleased, versions of all of their chart hits including the seminal 'Destroy The Heart', voted single of the year in 1988. 19 tracks including 'I Don't Know Why I Love You', 'The Beatles And The Stones', 'Christine' and more. Universal.

An excellent cd! These recordings showcase the band after guitarist Terry Bickers left/was ejected from the band and cover the period from 1990-1992. Even so the band sounds great and seem to have lost none of their edge. There are many fine performances of their classic songs. I would highly recommended these recordings for any fans of The House of Love or anyone new to the band.
