OK, so I'm a Lloyd Cole fan and most all of these songs are from his excellent first two albums with the Commotions - in that you can't go wrong. However, some of these songs are live in front of a crowd and some are 'live' in a studio with no audience at all and it makes for a bit of an odd mix. Added to that is the repetition of several songs and this seems like an odd package. Some of the performances are really good, and it's fun having some different takes, but eventually I ended up buying Live at the BBC, Vol. 1 as well and putting contents from the three CD's together to cut myself a real live set which amounts to about one CD. I think that the producers or marketers were supposed to do that, not put out this jumble. So music = ***** format = ** average about three stars |
