Blues at it's best,
By
This review is from: Live at Blue Cat Blues (Audio CD)
This is the best blues from Texas I've heard in a while. When will these guys get together again? I am living in Australia right now and I miss real BLUES music. Stores over here don't sell it. These guys are great!

It doesn't get much better than this. Two guitar wizzards on the same stage along with cranking bass and pounding drums. Check out this version of Jimi Hendrix's "Are You Experienced"! Around my house, this one plays over and over and over........

Jim Suhler and Alan Haynes, two of the best guitarist's in Texas, {and we have the best in the USA}, really smoke on this Live CD. If you like blues that rock, get this CD now and enjoy!

Not Much Better Than This,

Jim Suhler is good but Alan Haynes is great!... Check out the Red Guitar he has, it was Stevie Ray's on the Albert King Record- IN Sessions. Alan has been playing since he was 8 years old and is tremendous. Buy this CD and go check him out at Joe's Generic Bar on 6th Street in Austin (every tuesday night!). He will rock your world!!

A superb live blues CD,
This review is from: Live at Blue Cat Blues (MP3 Download)
This performance and sound is among the best. The song selection is great and I enjoy the "dirty" slide work as one reviewer put it. This is one of my five favorite CDs of the genre so you cannot go wrong with this and will be a welcome addition to any blues fan's collection.

I have seen B.B. King, Buddy Guy and George Thorogood live in concert and would pay as much to see these guys if they ever came to the Toledo area. I downloaded the product from Amazon to my computer and burned it to a cd. The sound is excellent! They seem to hit the right notes on every song. No junk music on the cd! The five dollars for the download was the best deal for any music I ever bought! These guys are good! The first time I listned to it I was impressed at how talented they are. If you like blues with a lot of electric guitar and an upbeat style, this cd is one that won't dissapoint!

This is the first album I got from either of these guys. The other reviews are right on, you are listening to a couple of guitar masters who sound great together. I love Live blues and this is a real good one.

More Classic Blues Rock from Texas,

You have to wonder what they put in the water in Texas, as so many unbelievable Blues Rock guitarists came from that State. Freddie King, Johnny Winter, Billy Gibbons, Stevie Ray, Doyle Bramhall, Ian Moore, Chris Duarte, David Grissom, Jay Hooks, Joe Kubek,Chris Anderson, Albert Cummings, Shane Henry, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and the list goes on and on. You can include Alan Haynes and Jim Suhler. Unlike the majority of reviewers so far, I prefer the dirtier Slide Blues of Jim Suhler, and not surprisingly my favourite songs are the Suhler led 'Down and out in Texas' and 'Too poor to die', but 'Knocking at your door', sung by Haynes is totally awesome too. Nothing but great Rocking Blues and a fitting 'Are you experienced' to close the disc. Highly recommended.

Alan Haynes is the most impressive guitarist I've heard live,

Why doesn't Amazon have Alan Hayne's "Live at the Big Easy" album? I want to hear him by himself! I was in Austin for a conference, and accidentally wandered into Joe's Generic Bar on 6th Street, and was totally blown away by Alan Haynes! Apparently, he's better known in Europe than in his home country (the U.S.), and that's a real shame for us. I can't ever remember being so impressed, and I would have been just as impressed if he had been playing Carnegie Hall, and I had paid $50 for tickets.
