5.0 out of 5 stars Oooooh Yeeaah!!, September 24, 2010

The 'Espy', The Lime Spiders, couches, a dance floor that feels like joyous celebration, backpackers, cold beer, big happy Islander security staff, looking out at the palm trees and the bay, life just doesn't get better than that.

This album captures the feel wonderfully and I defy anyone to listen to this and not sing along at the top of their voice, throw their fist in the air and laugh and smile as if the good times will last forever.

The Lime Spiders are spectacular, put on a great gig and this album captures some of that.

Cheers

Lloyd

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm Volatile!!!!, November 5, 2008

...and why shouldn't I be? This album has been so long in arriving I was beginning to think Mick and the boys were retired. However, they still sound as raw and energetic as ever. Standout tracks are Volatile and Career of Evil that are not so much grunge but almost the perfect Abrasive Pop Songs of the Year (regardless of when they were recorded). Career of Evil shows the Blue Oyster Cult how it should have been done.

All the old favorites are there as well as a couple of new ones.

My advice to any fans - as well as people who want to open their eyes to how music was/is - need only buy this and put it on auto-repeat with the volume at 11.

Turn it up, dream of those sweaty nights in the Kardoma Cafe in Sydney Australia (or the Dark Coma as we called it) revelling until the early hours of the morning and dragging yourself to work a few hours later.

Thanks Spiders - I feel younger already...
