JIMMY STURR HAS A WINNER WITH THIS RECORDING. 15 SONGS RECORDED LIVE AT THE PLACE MADE FAMOUS IN THE 1979 MOVIE "URBAN COWBOY", "GILLEY'S" IN PASADENA, TEXAS. THE CLUB WAS OWNED BY THE GREAT MICKEY GILLEY. THIS RECORDING WAS THE LAST ONE MADE AT THIS FAMOUS SPOT BEFORE IT BURNNED TO THE GROUND IN THE 1980'S.

JOHNNY KARAS IS THE FEATURED VOCALIST WHOSE RENDITIONS OF SUCH SONGS AS THE WILLIE NELSON HIT "WHY DO I HAVE TO CHOOSE?" MAKE FOR VERY PLEASUREABLE LISTENING INDEED. THE BANDS VERSION OF "STRING OF PEARLS", AN OLD HIT FROM GLENN MILLER'S BAND IS EXCEPTIONAL! "FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN" WILL GET YOUR HEART PUMPING WITH IT'S UPBEAT TEMPO AND INSTRUMENTATION. A GOOD BUY AND ADDITION TO ANY POLKA FANS COLLECTION OR ANY LOVER OF GOOD MUSIC WOULD ENJOY THIS RECORDING.

This will be a surprise present for my husband for his birthday in May. He happened to like what he heard on Public Television one night when they featured Jimmy Sturr. I ordered it for him and did play it just to see that it was received in good condition. I liked polka music years ago when I was young so it brought back some nice memories. Anyone who likes polka music and can still dance will love it. It's good for listening too as you can visualize how much fun you used to have!Live at Gilley's
