4.0 out of 5 stars cerebral explorations
Expanding on previously released material and an unbeatable cover of Wayne Shorter's 'Witch Hunt', this live set catches the band at the height of their improvisational abilities. Full of cerebral energy, dynamic group cohesion and special guests fueling the fire. Get ready to enjoy a burning set that goes in all directions yet holds together with the gel that defines...

3.0 out of 5 stars Lukewarm fusion with brief glimpses of greatness.
Plenty of musical talent on display, but unfortunately the parts are greater than the whole. There are just four songs on the CD, and each is too long by half. While there are some great riffs and brief grooves to whet your appetite, the music just never comes together with the energy and depth you're expecting. Several times throughout the recording these guys just seem...

A crisp recording that captures great musicians redefining the limits of the almighty groove.

5.0 out of 5 stars 43 ways to....., June 25, 2003

Schleigho is raw! This disc exemplifies the power of four jazz fusion all-stars who push the envelope to the limit every night they step on stage. Old school Wayne Shorter with the help of Josh Smith on tenor (Birth), to originals like Go Children Slow with Derek Trucks on slide guitar, and Kofi Burbridge on flute. Sizzlin'! Matrices for sure is the climax of this recording. Cerulo (guitar), Gibbon (rhodes), Mahone (bass) and Egol (percussion) are as tight as they are loose. Rarely do these legends miss a beat. Schleigho is definitely music for the minded. If you're into experiencing music from a different perspective, venture your way into the world of 43.

This CD was my intro to Schleigho, and I'm thinking I heard a very good band on an off night.
