5.0 out of 5 stars Reason
Soundtribe Sector 9 has begun to deveolp into the premier electronica/space Jazz ensemble. From their earlier vibes of funk, they have transformed into the instrumental electronica grop that we all love so dearly. Although the albums roots are strictly elctronic/IDM, their use of the program, Reason has blown all expectaion, as the all members of STS9 are accomplished...

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but inconsistant
As a fan and frequent listener of both studio and multiple live shows, I found this collection of compositions to lack cohesion. Some tracks offered glimpses of the beautiful, layered complexity that STS9 can offer while others came off as unfinished ideas. Sure there's a great demand for STS9 music by fans but fans should be aware that this is a set of primarily solo...

From their earlier vibes of funk, they have transformed into the instrumental electronica grop that we all love so dearly. Although the albums roots are strictly elctronic/IDM, their use of the program, Reason has blown all expectaion, as the all members of STS9 are accomplished producers. The album is just amazing, although the beginning of the cd is a bit slow, momentum builds as song after song grip the listener.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Amazing!!, October 12, 2003

I have been a fan of Sound Tribe for about 2 years now and never have I heard them do anything like this before. This new studio album shows a side of STS9 that has never been seen before.

A lot of these tracks are just the band playing around and making interesting sounding little jams. But many of the tracks definitely stand out and never cease to amaze me...every time I hear them. I would definitely reccommend this album to any STS9 fan, or any fan of any type of music. This is a must have.

I've been a fan of Sector Nine since I saw them in concert, but this CD has totally blown me away. Every track on it is amazing. Damn good CD, all around great.

As electronic music progresses I get more strict on the weird offshoots within the genera as it continues to grow, STS9 is trying hard and is talented, but seems to have a chip on their shoulder.....I still like it, but not great either.....

Sure there's a great demand for STS9 music by fans but fans should be aware that this is a set of primarily solo projects by STS9 members. Its good enough to keep in my rotation, track 20 grabbed me, but I expect it will be bumped by something else sooner rather than later.
