STATUS QUO "Rock´n´Roll´n´You" (Official Video HD) from the 2011 Studio Album "QUID PRO QUO"

Biography

Status Quo; the English rock band who mastered three chords and stopped at that. There was no need to expand their repertoire, the fans love what they do and have never asked for more than their trademark boogie line. Though they are often lampooned, their material has been adopted by notable peers including Ozzy Osbourne and legendary DJ John Peel.

Two original members form the bedrock of the… Read more in Amazon's Status Quo Store

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 1/2 stars. Roll over, lay down..., March 26, 2009
This review is from: Live at the Nec (Audio CD)
"Live at the N.E.C." doesn't rock with quite the same fiery abandon as Quo's classic 1977 double live album, perhaps, but it is a very solid, very enjoyable recording in its own right.

The fidelity is excellent, as is the production. The drums bite without being overwhelmingly loud, and the singers' voices blend perfectly...Quo has never had any really exceptional singers in their lineup, but the triple lead vocals of Rossi, Parfitt, and Lancaster somehow fit the band's simple, melodic, blues-based hard rock perfectly. You have to be a grumpy sod not to want to rock a little to this well-crafted good-time rock n' roll!

"Live at the N.E.C." was recorded on May 14, 1982 for Prince Charles' Prince's Trust charity, and it features scorching renditions of some of the band's best songs, including "Whatever You Want", the underexposed "Backwater", and a piledriving "Little Lady". And whatever you may think of Status Quo in the 21st century, this is one hell of a rock n' roll record, and it's a real shame that only half the concert was released. This is one live album that would have benefitted from being spread out across two discs.

5.0 out of 5 stars the band smokes here,, January 22, 2011
By
This review is from: Live at the Nec (Audio CD)
This is another smokin live cd from status quo and this is from the early 80's. the band can still smoke live though! But this one had famous folks showing up at it to enjoy the monster rock machine jam out. At this time the crowds were insane to be in a mass of jumping people, quo shows were pure energy and had been since the early seventies. todays shows audience wise are much more sedate because the audience is now a mixture of oldies and still even teens! , back then it was teens to 30's. A quo concert was a true experience that few bands can recreate and this show captures it. It even has two extra tracks , it's could have thrown a few more in but still this is prime quo from a live time when the audiences and the band were in their prime. Another similiar release called 'tokyo quo' (1976 show) exists and I had to buy a boxset to get that one. This is first rate rockin and that's good enough for me though.

3.0 out of 5 stars bad mix, August 5, 2005
By
This review is from: Live at the NEC (Audio CD)
The sound of this album is not good, because it's difficult to hear the keaboards of Andy Bown, the sound of the guitars are too in the background, the voices of the singers too, the drums and the bass are too in the front. Don't buy this album and wait the new remaster double CD ( full set) for december 2005 with an new mix by Tim Turan.
