I had the wonderful experience to see these guys in concert in San Diego and was blown away by their collective power. On this cd, the excitement comes across in the live venue recording. They blend funk, rock and what I call New Orleans brass-jazzy-soul into a sound that is distinct and unique. The power-packed trombone albums by JJ, Frank, and Kai of the sixties were lyrical and well crafted. Bonerama brings the file and the Tabasco to the gumbo.

All I can say that is if you enjoy hybrid funk/blues sounds that bring it with the brass, then this is a band for you. I discovered this now favorite of mine through the Pandora station for the Budos Band.
Fun and energetic, Bonerama produces an irresistible sound that makes sitting still impossible. This live album does well to capture the energy of catching the show for yourself. Embedded in my soul, I suggest you catch the Bonerama bug and pass it along. 5 stars, unquestionably. Also recommend: The Budos Band, El Michels Affair and Menehan Street Band |
