5.0 out of 5 stars Best concert DVD ever!
"Live at the Paradiso" is the rare concert DVD that makes you feel like an actual part of the audience. It is a must buy for a fan of the band Live or rock music fan in general. Just an awesome experience from start to finish!

2.0 out of 5 stars Had it, lost it
I was a big fan of Live from their early work all the way through most of V. After that, the songs seemed to lack musical appeal and lyrical luster. I think that's why all the guys started gaining weight. They were probably depressed that Ed kept getting douchier and douchier.

There was a time, however, when they were an awesome band to see perform live...

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally! A Live DVD and it is Awesome!, February 15, 2009

I have been a fan of Live since the Throwing Copper album and have everything since and have seen them 3 times. I have been waiting for Live DVD for many years now and this one does not dissapoint at all. It contains all the hits including a brilliant version of Johnny Cash's I Walk The Line. The sound is superb and it is very well filmed. This is a must for any Live fan out there, who like me has probably been waiting for a DVD release for so long.

5.0 out of 5 stars Live at the Paradiso Amsterdam DVD, February 9, 2009
This review is from: Live: Live at the Paradiso Amsterdam (DVD)
If you are a Live fan, this DVD definitely will bring you back to seeing them play "live!" It is truly as close as it gets to re-living the experience that only a true Live fan can grasp. No one can deny they put on an excellent show and give their all every night! "We all wanna dance with you!"

4.0 out of 5 stars Great DVD, but should be a double dvd, January 11, 2009
This review is from: Live: Live at the Paradiso Amsterdam (DVD)
Great album, great atmosphere
the only negative point is that talking about a band with 7 studio albums, is very difficult to sumarize a hole career in one dvd
songs like pain lies on the riverside, run to the water, ghost, century, waitress, tdb, white discussion, call me a fool, iris etc should be in the other dvd

Live is a great band, with really great tunes, the 17 song were excellent, but I really wanted more!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Show, January 14, 2012
This review is from: Live: Live at the Paradiso Amsterdam (DVD)
It took a while to stumble onto this gem(have you ever done a search for 'live'?-good luck). I gather the band is continuing without Eddie now (but to me that's like Van Halen without David Lee Roth)so this will be about the best you'll get from a really good band.
Excellent band, interesting, very intimate venue, & an audience that's really into it make this a really good show. Video editing can be a little frenetic at times, but that's a pretty common complaint. I thought it was a little strange that Ed's brother played guitar with them throughout the whole show but because he's not an official member he was totally ignored during the editing. You just kept getting glimpses of someone up there playing with them. You had to read the credits at the end to make sense of it.Just a little wierd.
On the whole, two thumbs up

There are no words than can desribe how awesome Live is, and Ed Kowalczyk could not be better! Highly recommend to all of us Live fans who just can't seem to get enough of this band and/or Eddie K since he left Live. His first solo album is nothing less than perfection. Must have this DVD in any case.

I was a big fan of Live from their early work all the way through most of V. After that, the songs seemed to lack musical appeal and lyrical luster. I think that's why all the guys started gaining weight. They were probably depressed that Ed kept getting douchier and douchier.

There was a time, however, when they were an awesome band to see perform live. I had a number of bootlegs and saw them in concert. So, I know it. So, when I saw they had released a formal live dvd, I had to buy it (even having youtube to preview it). The band is great. Ed's voice is great. But, the performance is so overshadowed and distracted by Ed's self-congratulatory persona that it is mostly unwatchable. It's too bad, Lakini's Juice, Operation Spirit, Mirror Song... there are a lot of good songs on this dvd. But, they definitely seem more like a band like Ratt playing lots of little venues based solely on former glory. And, certainly, the 180 on the lyrical content of Operation Spirit... sad.

5.0 out of 5 stars Live at their best!!!, August 18, 2010

If you even remotely like this band you need to see this. Hardcore fans will be blown away. Great setlist, awesome show. The crowd is totally into the band. If you've ever seen these guys live you know what I mean. You can't really describe the aura to someone else. I've been to a few Live shows and I'm glad this show was captured on DVD before they broke up. This ended up being their swan song.

Even if you like Live just a little, this is a GREAT concert!

The quality of the sound and video are excellent. One of the better Live concert recordings I've seen.

All the right songs, beautiful set, it's Live ... What else can I say? ... Why is Ed's brother neglected on the concert?
