absolute must have, June 21, 2004
This review is from: Live at Reggae Sunsplash 94 (Audio CD)
This CD captures Garnett's powerful performance at Sunsplash in 1994, only months before his untimely death. What makes this disc so great is the strong backing by the Jahpostles band, Garnett's flawless singing even when live, and a wicked selection of tunes. There is a surging energy to this set and it makes the well known studio tracks really spring to life. When Garnett says, " Run it my band " , they sure lean into it !!!!!!! THE SOUND QUALITY IS EXCELLENT !!!! lots of punch, clarity, and no unwanted noise or feedback. A MUST HAVE FOR ANY FAN OF CONSCIOUS REGGAE.

UNLIKE OTHER LIVE ALBUMS, March 30, 2002
This review is from: Live at Reggae Sunsplash 94 (Audio CD)
THIS IS A MUST HAVE CD. GARNETT'S VOICE LIVE IS 100%, UNLIKE SOME ARTISTS WHO SOUND BETTER IN THE STUDIO. ON THIS CD HE RUNS THROUGH ALL THE HITS, BACKED BY THE AWESOME JAHPOSTLES BAND. THE SOUND IS VERY CLEAR, MIXED PERFECTLY TO TAKE OUT THE NOISE USUALLY ASSOCIATED WITH LIVE ALBUMS. FOR THOSE WHO OWN HIS STUDIO RELEASES, THIS CD BREATHES NEW ENERGY INTO THOSE FAMILIAR TUNES. ON TRACK 4, ADVANTAGE, SILK PLEADS OVER AND OVER, "HELP THE UNDERPRIVILEGED", AND THE POWER IN HIS VOICE IS CHILLING. AN IMPORTANT DOCUMENT IN REGGAE MUSIC WHICH BEAUTIFULY DISPLAYS THE MUCH MISSED ARTIST'S UNMATCHED TALENT.

High Energy, March 25, 2001
This review is from: Live at Reggae Sunsplash 94 (Audio CD)
There are only a few good Reggae Live albums - like Dennis Brown 'Live in Montreux' and 'Whiteriver Reggae Splash', Marley, and a few others. Live at Reggae Sunsplash is high energy music and all who say Reggae is lame should listen to this album. It rules. A Must-Have!!!
