4.0 out of 5 stars Good Rugby Humour, April 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Live at Treorchy Rugby Club (Audio CD)
The recording is very entertaining but a lot of the humour is aimed at those who have a knowledge of the rivarly between England, Wales, Scotlandand New Zealand on the Rugby field. Anyone unfamiliar with accents outside the U.S.A. will probably miss some of the jokes. The recording has been done well with minimal dialogue being lost to audience reaction.

Max Boyce is timeless in fact he improves with age like good whiskey. I just have to hear his voice and I start laughing. If you are down or depressed then Max Boyce "live at Treorchy" will give your spirit a huge lift.

Max Boyce has a keen eye and ear for capturing the fabric of welsh life. His anecdotes surrounding his family, friends and rugby exploits ring true with every welsh person. It is difficult not to share some experience he liltingly recites. Just perfect, smashing...

4.0 out of 5 stars He's not my friend he's my butty, February 13, 2001
This review is from: Live at Treorchy Rugby Club (Audio CD)
Very, very funny! I'm sure that this humor will be more approachable in the USA than it is in the old country - see new colonies.

Max Boyce is tremendous, and tells a funny tale like the genuine article. Max is an entertainer, a comedian and a court jester for the people.

Lovely butt!
