In 1999 I was in Seattle for a few weeks and while visiting Pioneer Sq. (I think) I heard some fantastic jazz coming out of an underground record store. I went down and fell in love instantly with the music. It was Live at Tulas. Needless to say I bought the CD on the spot. Three years later I still listen to it at least once a week. Its now one of my favorite jazz albums in my steadily growing CD collection (from bop to acid, from Clifford Brown to Erik Truffaz).
His tone is simply superb! And he's backed by a great band that includes a great bass player. Highly recommended!
