5.0 out of 5 stars Viva Sivuca!, August 23, 2006

Vexatio "vexatio" (The state of disbelief.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Live at the Village Gate (Audio CD)
God bless Sivuca and his genius. I really enjoy this CD. Great when chillin' or good to stomp yer neighbor to (with an iron pipe). I have to say that there is a lot of energy on Village Gate. I swear there is an ethereal quality here too, transcending time and space. He screams and belts out music on almost a perverse level. Its like sipping lemonade on the moon in a rubber room on acid....a place where sanity shakes the hand of mania.

4.0 out of 5 stars More Than This......., September 15, 2005
This review is from: Live at the Village Gate (Audio CD)
More than this you cannot ask for Sivuca and his band displayed a joy for preforming that one rarely finds these day.Borders are easily overcome the band plays American music in every sense of the word.Latin music in my opinion mirrors the best of what we in the northern part of America have to offer...just listen to Sivuca do Bill Withers tune.
