I was very surprised when I first listened to the records of this box.
What Eddie Kramer and crew did is amazing! Most of the woodstock recordings are bad, noisy, rough, but this album is pure excitement (specially if you mind that it was recorder on 6 tracks).
If you close your eyes, it sounds as if the band is in front of you.
Plus, the booklet and the 7" inside are awesome.

Jimi Hendrix live at Woodstock was an incredible occurence, and all as I can say is I wish I was there NOW! From 'Hear My Train A Coming' to 'Star Spangled Banner', his power and majesty blast through his Marshall amps like the cry of the heavens. And if you look closely in the night sky, between the constellations of Taurus and Apollo , you can connect a string of bright blue stars to see a guitar, and a star-studded headband. This is Jimi Hendrix, forevermore...

I have the woodstock nation 2 cd bootleg which is an un cut up release from the 80's. When i listen to the intro flowing into the first song which is a jam into spanish castle magic, i think message to love on the official release is dubbed in. The bootleg is real, i think whoever released this tried to fatten it up with message to love, and fill the set some because both larry lees songs gypsy woman and mastermind are missing. Its my take on it, the liner notes say something about how message to love was recovered somehow.... I think its bs
