A British who done it.,
By Edward DeVere (Franklin, TN USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Lively Form of Death (A Chief Inspector Morrisey Mystery) (Hardcover)
Overall a well done mystery with a little to much "British" word usage for my taste. I often found myself re-reading passages so that I could comprehend the language. The characters are not well drawn so as to be memorable, except for the chief investigator who reminds me of a modern Sherlock Holmes. Put your mind in the midst of a small English village corrupted by modern photographic and computer technology and you might enjoy this work more than I did. SPOILER: The vicar holds the key.

Excellent,
This review is from: A Lively Form of Death (A Chief Inspector Morrisey Mystery) (Hardcover)
A most excellent English mystery/thriller. You feel for the overworked Morrissey, you feel the killer in the background. Well-written, excellent novel.Kay Mitchell also writes as Sarah Lacey--a lighter set of mysteries with a young amateur female who solves cases. |
