4.0 out of 5 stars Looking Back
Ringo takes a look back at his life in the title song & first single from his new album.
Like all Ringo songs the song is amiable & fun to listen to. Produced by Dave Stewart it features
a full orchestra & a full chorus that joins Ringo in the song's finale- a joyous chant of "Liverpool" .
It may not be his best song- but its warm & memorable ,much like...

4.0 out of 5 stars Ringo Reawakened, January 21, 2008
This review is from: Liverpool 8 (MP3 Download)
When ot comes to classic music icons, there are few and far between, especially when it came to The Beatles. For Ringo Starr, the feeling has been remembering the heart of your roots. His latest single shows that well, Liverpool 8. The title track from his latest album is definitely, one of the best songs he has released on his own in a very long time. The song is very uplifting, and true to the style sound he had with The Beatles. The song is a delight to listen to, and it still shows that Ringo has a lot more to show than a lot of the younger artists out there. I hope the rest of his album can deliver just as surprisingly well, as the single Liverpool 8.

Song: B+

5.0 out of 5 stars Ringo's New Single, February 20, 2008

I'd been looking forward to Ringo's new release for quite some time. I bought this single the first day it was available and am happy to report that I was definitely satisfied with Ringo's newest offering. It easily lives up to the tracks on Ringo's recent releases, Ringo Rama and Choose Love. I think Liverpool 8 is a great song, and one of my favorite Ringo tracks in recent years. The music is inventive, the lyrics tell a good story, and Ringo's vocals are some of his best work since the Beatle days. It's a fun, catchy song, and one that will definitely stay on my playlist. I highly recommend this track as well as the full album, Liverpool 8. Ringo delivers, once again!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not about the album - about Amazon Pricing!, January 28, 2008

The link on the original album listing for this product said "Buy MP3 ALBUM for $0.99" But when you get here, sadly, you're only offered ONE SONG.

Bad Amazon. This underpricing could have generated you new customers. As it is, I already have a Napster account, and why should I switch? You cost the same.

2.0 out of 5 stars With all due respect to Rings, February 4, 2008
This review is from: Liverpool 8 [Single] (Audio CD)
The song is a terrible piece of junk. I don't hold it against him--as the normal person's proxy in the Fab Four, Ringo can't really be expected to come up with works of genius--but even as nostalgic pablum, this is pretty bad. As the man himself said many moons ago: it don't come easy.
