Yet another excellent title from the let's read and find out science series. My 5 yr. old really enjoys it, and is gaining valuable knowledge about this fascinating species.

beautiful illustrations and excellent narrative - I learned a lot and it really puts the alligators' importance in the ecosystem into perspective, presenting them as 'keystone species' essential for the health of the everglades and its species. my 4 yr old loves this book - and it would be excellent for kids up through school age -

Who Lives in an Alligator Hole? (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2)
My husband and I vacationed quite a bit in the everglades but we didn't know about alligator holes. So when I ordered this book I had no idea even what an alligator hole was. I learned a lot from this book. Alligators find places where water leaks up thru the limestone and they wallow out a puddle for themselves to stay wet and cool. Then other creatures come to the water and seeds are dropped and soon there is an entire environment in the alligator hole. Fascinating. My son and I love the "Let's read and find out" books but this one was especially interesting and informative. Hopefully one of these days we'll go back to the everglades with our son and we'll get to see an actual alligator hole, and we'll understand what we are seeing at last.

During reptile week at home, we read this book to learn why alligators are so important to the animal kingdom. This book taught us exactly what I was hoping it would.
